    2013-2014 Offseason

I love hot stove. First big trade of the offseason.......Fielder for Kinsler with $30M going with Fielder to Texas. I like it for both teams. This should allow Detroit to move Cabrera back to 1B and create money to resign Scherzer. Texas gets a much needed bopper at 1B and creates room for Profar.

Agreed I like it as well.

Like Ken Rosenthal said it also opens up room for Castellanos to play 3B for the Tigers and Profar 2B for the Rangers.

Fielder could hit 50+ in that ballpark in Texas.

I don't see why. Unless they trade Andrus, they have a solid middle IF for years to come.

Cards traded Freese to the LAAAA for Bourjos. Couple of other players in the deal but they are the main players.

Interesting. I know that the Yanks had shown interest in Freese.

The market was limited and Jay-Z works for him.

If the latest rumors are true, he lucked out having Seattle be so desperate. He almost cost Cano a lot of money.

    Beltran signs with the Yanks.

I don't get that signing by the Yanks. I'm a big Beltran fan but they don't need another OF. He's also going to need time at DH and the plan was for them to use that spot as a 1/2 day off for their regulars. Every new OF means a better chance of them trading Gardner, which I don't want them to do. He's good and will come in handy when Ellsbury spends a lot of time on the DL.

Won't Soriano being DH-ing most of the time with his fielding not being that great? Beltran will need a lot of time I would think at DH.

Maybe the Yanks go throwback and put Soriano back at 2B

Waiting for the Jays to do something about their pitching...

It depends how the roster shakes out. Barring a trade, I would expect Soriano to be the most full-time DH on the team but they have been preaching that they wanted to use the DH spot as a way to semi-rest their regulars. Beltran might need rest but he averaged 550 AB in the NL over the past 2 seasons. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

People have been calling sports talk radio asking that. I wish that it was a possibility but there's no chance. The Yanks better address the pitching. Either that or trade for Brandon Phillips and try to outscore everyone 10-9. I'm joking but, if they don't get at least another SP and some bullpen help, that's probably what they'll be doing.

They signed Roy Halladay, so that's huge!

As always Halladay keeps it classy with the one day contact so he can retire a Jay. My favourite player of all time.

Yes Halladay is all class. He's my 2nd fav Blue Jay of all time. Robbie still takes the cake for me.

Really to bad he played on some bad Blue Jays teams.

Kershaw just resigned with the Dodgers for $215M for 7 years.

    So it's about $30M a season. Or about $1m a start.

He's a great pitcher but wow is that crazy.
