    New Kid Rock: Rebel Soul

New CD, "Rebel Soul" was released last Tuesday. Once, again, a wide variety of music genres. KK, we have talked about Kid, from the beginning, Grits, and EMSP.....thoughts?

The thing about Kid Rock is that he doesn't have two albums that are exactly the same... and by that I mean, same style. Something is different on each of them. Even those early ones like Grits Sandwiches and Early Morning Stoned Pimp. I have been a fan of Kid Rock from the beginning. When I did some work within the music industry, he was one of my main focuses. The Devil Without a Cause is what kicked him into the popularity stratosphere. He really hasn't fallen much. What he may have lost in some fans he gained in others. As for the new stuff. I like it. I like the ability to adapt and change, and then merge all of it together in his live shows. On top of it...he is the most down to earth dude. If you didn't know who he was, you'd think he was just some ordinary dude with scraggly long hair.

He needs to lose the "Rock" part of his name, because he isn't rock, and he absolutely doesn't rock.

Kid Rock to charge fans only $20 for tour tickets

    By Gerrick D. Kennedy
    April 9, 2013, 2:13 p.m.

In maybe one of the best bargains arena concertgoers will catch all year, Kid Rock has announced that tickets -- including VIP -- for his summer shows will come at the very low cost of $20.

Dubbed the $20 Best Night Ever tour (in support of last year’s album, “Rebel Soul”), the trek launches June 28 in Bristow, Va., and wraps up Sept. 15 in Tampa.

Kid Rick is slated to bring the show to Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on July 26. Kool & the Gang, ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker have been tapped for select dates.

In a bid to thwart scalpers (and, let’s be honest, assure a sold-out show), Kid Rock takes the deep discounts further than just a low ticket price. The rocker is reserving the first two rows for each show as free upgrades for fans selected at random.

The performer also persuaded venues to offer $4 draft beers, discount parking, free coffee for designated drivers and tour T-shirts for $20. (As someone who survived his “Chillin' the Most” cruise last year and witnessed firsthand how his fans party, venues would be strongly advised to stock beer by the truckload.)

"Everyone knows the economy is still hurting people across the country, but I didn't want that to be a reason why everyone couldn't get out and enjoy themselves on a summer night. So we're going to throw the biggest and best party ever, with prices across the board that are reasonable and transparent. No hidden fees, no gimmicks. We're not sparing any expense on this tour, we're going over the top as always, but that doesn't mean we're going to ask the fans to pay more,” Kid Rock said in a statement.

“If this works we're going to play to packed houses of fans who appreciate what we're doing. If it doesn't, might be a long summer. But someone has to go out there and fight these high prices and change things up, and I'm lucky enough that I can afford to take a pay cut. $20. Best night ever."

Tickets go on sale to the public in select markets beginning Friday through Live Nation and Walmart. More information can be found on Kid Rock's website. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...,6123592.story

Just went to the Kid Rock show here in Jersey this past Tuesday. Have to say, I have been a supporter of Kid Rock from the beginning and it is a spectacle to see his growth from skinny whiteboywannaberapper with Grit Sandwiches to where he is now. The show was great. Tickets a low, low $20, shirts $20-30, even some food/beer was cheap....4 hot dogs/4 sodas for $20 and they had $4 beer. Missed Kracker. Was inside for Kool and the Gang. Kool and the mother f'n Gang. Wow. Just wow. Don't know what else to say. That is really not my style, but I was entertained. They were non-stop from the time they hit the stage to the end of their set. Kid comes out and opens with the title track from Devil Without a Cause and had video screen footage of Joe C. For his part at the end. Good stuff. He proceeded to rattle off track after track, some hits/singles, some not. It was all good. He re-worked older songs and made them new again. Good stuff!
