Red Wings put Pulkkinen on waivers. Leafs have the 1st waiver spot, wonder if they claim him. I would.

I can't believe Hunwick and Polak are going to see time over Frankie Corrado.

Also prepared to be really underwhelmed by Andersen... I dunno if I said it in here when they signed him, but my opinion is that contract was a mistake and he's going to be exposed in Toronto.

Would love to see Holland get a shot with Bozak and Marner but I'm biased... put JvR with Kadri and Leo and you can balance things out a bit. Michalek is shit.

Personally have no interest in Pulkkinen, good slapper but nothing else. Looks like Laich is staying with the Leafs too.

He's not a great skater but maybe he can work with Barb Underhill like most other Leafs if they do pick him up.

Babcock would know him well. We'll find out if he likes him or not I guess.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw that. Couldn't hurt, right?

He did not look well in the pre-season, but I will chalk that up to him still in recovery mode.

Yeah. He's got a big shot, but doesn't hit the net enough with it, he's not a good skater and is a defensive liability. I.e. not Babs' type of player. But you guys can have him if you want him. I won't be devastated if another team plucks him off waivers.

Griffith was a better choice than Pulk. Looks like Laich and Brown are going to the Marlies and Leivo goes to IR.

I missed Griffith on waivers yesterday. Another former London Knight for Hunter.

Bozak, Rielly, Hunwick and Leo will are wearing A's this season. My guess is one of Rielly or Matthews will be wearing the C at this time next season.

I think the only thing i haven't liked about Babcock since he got here is his love of Hunwick.

    HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT!!!!!!

Matthews was obviously very good but I was super impressed with Marner (though he tailed off in the 3rd), Nylander, Hyman, Brown, etc. Rielly looks great. The future looks bright!!

Yeah, Matthews was awesome and Marner stood out first 2 periods but everyone looked pretty decent out there aside from Andersen unfortunately. He had no chance on that second goal but the first goal there should have been no rebound and i think the 3rd goal, one Brassard scored definitely should not have gone in. Hard to blame either Turris goal on him but you need to make big saves on those occasionally, he never seemed to come up with that big save.
I'm not in agreement with Phanuef that he's a bad goalie, but he's gotta be better.

Andersen needs to realize every save isn't a "big" one. Hopefully he settles in and makes the routine saves. I expect quite a few more games like this one this year, unfortunately. Fun to watch. Does anyone know if any other player has ever scored on their first 3 shots in the NHL? Incredible!!!

Andersen is a big guy I don't know why he was making himself small like he was. You shouldn't be able to beat him over his shoulder. I'm also not worried about him. He didn't have much of a training camp with his injury.

Saturday night is going to be crazy for us Leafs and Blue Jays fans with the Blue Jays game starting at 4 and the Leafs having the big centennial ceremony before the game at 6. They are going to overlap each other.

I will be watching the Blue Jays game as well. But I will be checking out what is going on in the ceremony during breaks. I could be wrong, but I don't think this will be like normal ceremonies we are used to.

It definitely will not. I'll be watching the whole thing or recording it.

They had deadmau5 make a new Leafs track that will be played for the first time tomorrow night. They are also asking fans going to the game to be in their seats for 5:30 when the game starts at 7. They have something big planned.

Leafs finally get it right by retiring all the numbers that should have been retired years ago. Also nice to see Dave Keon get his name and number put up. It was so wrong not to have him around the team for years. Shanahan is doing all the right things.

This Leafs team won't win every game.... they are kind of like Team North America at the World Cup. Man are they fun to watch. Marner answered any questions anyone still had about him maybe going back to Jr last night. That's a no! Connor Brown won't be playing on the 4th line for long. He such a good hockey player.

They would be 4-0 if the games ended after 2. Going to happen with a young team. Need to get better in their own zone.

Hunwick needs to not be playing.

    Agreed.

    Andersen was better today.
