Perhaps, but almost certainly not until after the lottery.

Agreed. He's a good player, but I hope the Leafs don't draft him.

I'd be fine with Zacha if that's who they drafted if both Strome and Marner are gone. Heck I would take a d-man like Provorov before Crouse, that's with me wanting a Centre/forward before anything.

I think he will be a very good complementary player in the NHL. Leafs already have tons of those players.

Yeah. It looks like one of them would be available if they stay at the 4th pick.
I have heard good things about Noah Hafinin. Anyone else?

Oh very good. From what I saw of the World Jr, he and his partner Werenski were probably USA's best players after Eichel.

Hanifan is the best d-man in this draft. He's not a lock to go 3rd though. It depends on who gets that pick. If the Oilers stay in that spot then they have to take him though, put him with Nurse on the back end.

Trade with Nashville keeps looking better and better.

Franson has been benched from time to time and Santorelli was a healthy scratch last night.

When they Leafs made that trade Nashville was first overall in the NHL, they are now 6th in the NHL and lined up to play Chicago in round 1 (as of right now) which is no easy task. If they lose in round 1 their 1st round pick that we have could be a high 20's pick.

Nice. Watching the standings and noticed that. Also was wondering why I haven't heard much about those 2. I think Franson wants to return to the Leafs

I wonder if this drives down Franson's value this Summer?

It's a very weak FA class this year. Him and Mike Green are the top UFA d-man. Someone will pay him. I'd take Franson before Green. Teams over pay on July 1st.

He's also not being utilized how he should be (arguably) and his peripherals are actually quite good still. They had to know bringing in a defenceman to a team that already boasts Weber, Josi, Jones.

Leafs have recalled Colton Orr for the last game of the season vs the Habs. He'll be a UFA after this season. Some think he may retire. He's played 14 games for the Marlies this season.

Classy move by the Leafs doing this. Orr did everything the Leafs asked of him and never bitched once.

    Awesome to hear.

Kinda wish they would've had guys like McLaren and him in more this past season. I hope Orr plays 20 minutes lol

I wonder what Orr's reception in the room will be. Apparently he's a decent guy but can be a bit of a child. Playing pranks on game days and things like that that are generally frowned upon.

It looks as though the Leafs will be locked in at 27th place and in all likelihood will grab the 4th overall pick in this years draft. If the order stays as is (Sabres-Yotes-Oilers), I'm very curious about who the Oilers will take. I think McDavid and Eichel are the no-brainer 1 and 2 picks but after that it's interesting. Do the Oilers try to take another forward or grab Hanifin to play with Nurse and give them their top pairing of the future.

If I'm the Oilers, I probably shop that pick around and see if I can't pick up an asset plus a later first round pick.

Aka pull a stick-up on the Leafs trying to get the 4th and NSH pick so the Leafs can draft Strome!

If the Oilers stay at 3rd overall they have to take Hanifin. Hanifin and Nurse would be two key blue liners to build around.

Prust better get ready because Orr's going to be on the hunt!

PS: it does sound like Orr is perhaps a bit childish....but given that you'd think he'd fit right in with Kessel, Bozak, Kadri, etc.!

Leafs clinched 4th last spot tonight. So they will pick 4th, or 1st if they win the lottery or 5th if someone higher wins the lottery.

Leafs shouldn't give anything to move up to 3rd. Strome is probably a better fit but any of Hanifan/Strome/Marner are great prospects and giving up an asset to choose between them is a waste.

Agreed. They will for sure get at least one of Strome, Marner, Hanifin, Provorov, Zacha now. Hope Strome if they don't win the lottery.

The Kings now have a small chance in the lottery. It would be unreal if they somehow won it.

The regional Toronto Maple Leafs games on Sportsnet Ontario are down a whopping 29 per cent.

PS: recorded this the other week and forgot to post

Not shocked with Leafs ratings being down. This has been a tough season to watch games. I've watched every game because I (and I would think most here) am a hard core Leafs fan. But for the average fan they don't want to watch this mess.

    Darren Dreger.

Leafs announce firing of Nonis, Horacek, Spott, Dennis and St Croix. Staios remains. As per release

Tough to see Spotter let go after on year. Wouldn't be surprised to see him reunite with DeBoer.

That or maybe he goes back to Jr.

A lot of talk that Shanahan wants Rob Blake to be the GM.

I'd like to see them wait a bit to see who else might be available.
