Imagine being Selei waiting for your team to arrive in Minsk and finding out the news. Wow.I heard the same but now some people are saying Salei was in fact on the plane when it crashed. I also heard Alexander Galimov survived but read he has died in the hospital from his injuries. damn just so sad.

the type of news and thread you never want to hear about or post in... tragic.

and this is even worse.......

Hockey's worst day continues: the mother of Lokomotiv player Sergey Ostapchuk, who died in the crash, suffered a heart attack upon hearing the news and passed. Unbelievably tragic day......

It has truly been a catastrophic summer for the hockey world. Post game 7 SCF looting, vandalism and sporadic violence which 140 people injured and resulted in 100 arrests and millions in property damage, the death of 3 players in a 4 or 5 month span and now this most recent catastrophic air disaster. What a roller coaster... the season can't get here soon enough.

Ive heard the plane was in its last year of service. Thought that was an odd fact. Really sad....reminds me of many people that have died in a plane. Ive only flown in a couple and really liked it. Its the chance you take when you walk on the tarmac and you know it.

RIP :angelic:

Thanksfully, this has been confirmed to be false.

Here's a real moving staory from the point of view of the van driver who picked KArlis SKrastins' family up and took them to the airport.

Not only was it in its final year of service, it was in its final MONTH! Also, this airline was been banned from entering European Airspace back in 09.

Very disturbing- you would think that a sports league (even in Russia) would use better quality aircraft. RIP.

I hear the devils lost a young 18 year old prospect. I wonder how many other teams did as well.

kings also lost a prospect......seems petty though......

what a tragedy......I am glad the team won't play this year.....it just doesn't seem right when almost 50 people parrished.....

Life is so precious. So far removed, emotionally/personally, it is the best we can take from this. Cherish every day. They are never guaranteed and are not forever.
