15. (195) Michal Neuvirth (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/4213)
16. (196) Ian White (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/3293)

C - Malkin, Roy, McDonald
LW - Nash(RW), Benn, Neal
RW - Giroux, Eriksson, Stewart
D - Carlson, McBain, Campbell, White
G - Luongo, Halak, Neuvirth

I really like it, D is a little weak but serviceable. There were so many high talent forwards left it didn't make sense to draft only marginally better D than what I got. Thanks for any input!

looks pretty good....nice get at 4 with giroux......not sure about campbell in FLA....he is either going to have a great year or suffer like jay bou did when he left FLA for CALGARY.....neuvy may have been better replaced by schnieder ( but he may have been gone and vokoun is not young and coiuld get injured)

NICE team from the 13 spot. You should reap huge benefits from your goalies with the points associated. Nice value with McDonald and Neal if they pan out this year.

mcbain is a good catch as well.....he is the future of the blueline in carolina....I have drafted him in many mock drafts........I think corvo having left and pitkanen staying to show him the ropes is a good thing..

The fact that you got Malkin and Luongo at #13 and #14 is amazing. They have both been going earlier in my mock drafts. Your first four picks are great. Nash and Giroux will be very good this season. Malkin and Luongo are studs as well. The only picks I don't like at face value are McDonald, Campbell, Neuvirth & White. I don't know, however, who else was on the board. You should also be able to replace those guys quite easily through FA/WW if they don't work out anyway. Overall I think you have an awesome team. Good luck this year!

I wanted Schneider, he was taken about 10 picks before me actually. Vokoun has steadily been starting about 60 though, so if Neuvirth starts even just 20 games an gets 12W 2SO I'd be happy. Campbell is a gamble, but that late worth it considering who was left. I think he'll do well being the best puck moving defenseman they have, and see tons of PP time.

It's not as effective when it's not H2H, but I tried to draft in pairs a little bit. If Malkin plays with Neal, Benn with Eriksson, and Stewart with McDonald, it'll be nice to get points and not have them cancelled out by another team having the other player involved.

Thanks guys.

I was shocked Malkin fell that far. Looking at the later rounds, I don't think I could have improved those picks unless I drafted in a different order, but it might have been smart to draft D earlier for sure. The notable C's that went after McDonald were Dubinsky, Berglund, and Bergeron. As for D I definitely waited too long, but Seidenberg, Hamrlik, Staal, Souray, Leopold, and Gonchar were the only D to go after Campbell, and I was targetting Gonchar with my last pick but ended up with White. Like I said earlier I wanted Schneider, but taking Neuvirth with my last pick only Bernier went after. Free agents include Dekanich, Lindback, Khabibulin, and Nabokov, who is definitely on my watch list.

not shocked malkin fell that far...I have done over 30 mock drafts and he is falling...... IMO is berglund was available I think he would have a been a better pick than andy mac but that is so close....(I also may have taken dubinski over either andy mac or berglund)

Oh I would take nabakov over neuvirth....IMO nabby is going to start and play well for the NYI and get traded to a better team......

Neuvirth is a wild card....i agree that Nabby is a better choice. Im not a Halak fan so im not a fan of that pick at all but im sure there was slim pickins at that point. Campbell is not going to be all that great but is surely a serviceable dman considering his surroundings and where you got him. Is Carlson really going that high or did you reach a bit? Theres a decent dman in BUF you might want to keep your eye on. Mcbain should be behind Kabs and Piktanen but that will change im sure....good player. Im actually collecting some of the kids RCs. Gonchar is really falling this year...alot of ppl think he is done (could very well be the case but hes worth a deep look imo) Sometimes i dont like posting here cuz i play with a bunch of these guys:lol:

Nice team....good luck

I think Neuvirth has a better shot of starting 25 games than Nabby does, just because of the good play from Montoya and Poulin, and apparently Dipietro is healthy. The situation is a mess. I don't know where he'd be traded to at this point. His play in the KHL was horrendous, and generally speaking, the transition from the NHL to KHL is easier than reverse, so it plays a factor in me not picking him. I did kind of reach for Carlson, but it was basically a choice between 5 or 6 defenseman with about the same ceiling I thought, I don't think there were any significantly better at that point. Who in Buffalo are you referring to? Ehrhoff was gone and i think Myers went immediately after.

And that's definitely one reason why I haven't joined a HI league  but don't let it stop you! People generally go with their gut over advice so it's not risking too much ;)

They might try to "rest" Vokoun....you could be right. Im just not so sure thats his style. Things change tho. Neuvirth is a good goalie sitting in the middle of two good goalies in WAS. But now that you write up the clusterfuck in NYI it makes sense to pass on Nabby. Its your 3rd slot so theres a good chance he doesnt finish on your team in that slot come seasons end.

Maybe maybe not a nice WW pick up. Worth keeping an eye on imo

Ah. I had heard he had a good chance at making an impact earlier, but with the two way 1 year contract he signed and sekera getting a longer deal I think it'll be tough for him to find a spot. In a deeper league like this though I'll definitely keep an eye on him.

Thats a good team - can't beleive Malkin fell so late. Giroux and Nash make are nice picks also to go along with excellent goalies.
