C: Carter Statsny Ribeiro Turris
LW: Zetterberg Ryan Laich Malone Filatov
RW: Perry Nash Brouwer Simmonds Bourque
D: Doughty Edler Subban E Johnson Corvo Wideman Bogosian
G: Luongo Bryzgalov Thomas Roloson

Prospects: Landeskog, Huberdeau, Myers, Hedman, Perron

My Championship team got dismantled/Blackhawk'd (7 of the first 16 picks were taken from my drops) so this is what I'm working with this year

Turris Filatov and Bogosian are getting call ups to make room for new prospects (trying to decide whether it's better to keep one of them prospected to drop Perron)

Need to get a 4th Center because I'd like to keep Turris on the bench to get a better idea if he's going to be worth hanging onto

Weiss, Steen, Oshie, Bergeron, Bolland, Savard are some of the available centers

Put turris on the farm, cut perron. add bolland or bergeron. trade a goalie. solid team.

here's how we're looking now after a couple moves

C: Carter (RW) Statsny Ribeiro Bergeron Oshie
LW: Zetterberg Ryan Laich Malone Filatov
RW: Perry Nash (LW) Brouwer Bourque Samuelsson
D: Doughty Edler Subban E Johnson Corvo Wideman
G: Luongo Bryzgalov Thomas Roloson

Prospects: Landeskog, Huberdeau, Myers, Hedman, Turris

I'll likely need a 7th d-man and have 6 LW and 6 RW eligible players, not sure who of the depth guys I'd let go of though.

Might not be a bad idea to just swap Filatov and Myers now if you want a 7th D. I think you'll know pretty early on if Filatov is worth holding on to or not.

yeah that's why i have filatov on my regular roster, if he sucks or doesn't make the team i can drop him and carry 5 prospects, if he's on my prospect list and he sucks i can't replace him during the season once we designate our prospects during the pre-season

i've left myers on prospect because if EJohnson breaks out and i want to keep him i could potentially be carrying 5 keeper D at the end of the season, which is way too many

Which goalie would you trade based on current value?

Raja

I'd shop all of them, whichever you can get the best return for.

jeff carter/tim thomas or bryzgalov too much to give up for malkin/Ekane?

i can still prospect Ekane as well

Raja

i'd do that with thomas in a heartbeat.

What do you guys think of these teams?

1. 1 year H2H, 10-teams, G A +- PPP GWG SOG | W GAA SV% SHO

Staal, Roy, Zajac
Parise, Cammaleri, Tanguay, Prospal
Perry, Gaborik, Eriksson, Alfredsson
Keith, Markov, Kaberle, Gonchar
Quick, Howard, Pavelec

2. 1 year H2H, 8-teams, G A P +- PIM PPP SHP GWG | W GAA SV% SHO
With 8:4 ratio for skater to goalies, I decided to focus on forwards. Did not draft Quick until the 6th round.

Malkin, Getzlaf, Zajac
Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Hartnell, Cammaleri
Kane, Havlat, Hemsky, Brown, Doan
Boyle, Letang, Markov, J. Johnson
Quick, Ward, Backstrom, Varlamov

I like the second team... the first team is high risk, high reward IMO.

Both solid. trade a goalie or 2 in the second league. 4 in a h2h league is overkill, and I'm sure since they're all starters somebody will be interested.

Yeah the second team is pretty stacked, 5 potential 90pt+ players mixed in with some decent multi-cat players. I would be devastated if I did not make the finals.

First team, I'm not so sure..with GWG & SOG I decided to draft more goal scorers, hence Perry, Parise, Staal, Gaborik, Cammaleri, Eriksson.

I will try to, but the problem is that it's a 8-teamer so all teams have 2-3 goalies already and Backstrom and Varlamov kinda suck lol.

What do you guys think of this one?

3. 1 year H2H, 12-teams, G A +- PPP SHP GWG SOG | W SV SV% SHO

Sharp, Koivu, Zajac
Parise, Kovalchuk, Benn
Gaborik, Eriksson, Hemsky
Burns, Wisnewski, Johnson, Campbell
Luongo, Ward, Dubnyk

I could have performed much better in this draft...I took Hemsky waaaay too early when I could have landed a much better 3C or 3D. SV instead of standard GAA makes Ward pretty damn good...he had 2100+ saves last year!

For a 12 teamer, I think that you did quite well.

Took over 2 keeper teams this season and just finished the drafts. Thoughts:

1. 12 team H2H - G, A, PPP, PIM, +/-, SOG, W, GAA, SV%, SO

C - J. Thornton, L. Couture, A. McDonald, S. Gomez
LW - A. Ovechkin, S. Gagne, R. Whitney
RW - D. Briere (C), M. Havlat, D. Alfredsson
D - S. Weber, B. Burns, E. Karlsson, C. Pronger, S. Gonchar
G - P. Rinne, M. Brodeur, M. Smith

2. 10 team H2H - G, A, PPP, PIM, +/-, SOG, W, GAA, SV%, SO

C - R. Getzlaf, B. Richards, J. Spezza, M. Koivu
LW - B. Ryan, T. Ennis, P. Elias, R. Whitney
RW - I. Kovalchuk (LW), M. Hossa, A. Semin, D. Alfredsson
D - E. Karlsson, C. Fowler, A. Markov, S. Gonchar
G - P. Rinne, J. Howard

I kept getting screwed when it came to drafting D for team 2. Both teams use standard positions and have 1 UTIL slot.

What's with the Ottawa connection? Alfredsson, Karlsson, Gonchar on both teams? :freak:

The first team looks okay to me. Though I would try my best to package Couture and someone else to upgrade RW, then shift Briere to C. I would no want to play Thornton and Couture together every game.

I like the second team much better. Even though the D sucks, you were able to draft more stud forwards / tradeable assets. I'd package Karlsson or Gonchar plus a forward and try to upgrade the D asap.

Mind evaluating a few more of my teams?

4. 12 team H2H - G, A, PPP, PIM, +/-, SOG, W, GAA, SV%, SO
-Drafted 1 of 12
-My D is very suspect...I waited too long to draft my first D (Ehrhoff)!

Getzlaf, Roy, Grabovski
Ovechkin, Hartnell, Cammaleri
Nash, Gaborik, Hemsky
Ehrhoff, Markov, White, Campbell
Price, Quick, Mason

5. 12 team H2H - G, A, PPP, PIM, +/-, SOG, W, GAA, SV%, SO
-Drafted 9 of 12
-Ryan was autopicked at #9 because I wasn't there for the first few minutes...luckily Malkin was there for me to take in Round 2.

Malkin, Roy, Zajac
Ryan, Kovalchuk, Vanek
Brown, Selanne, Hemsky
Edler, Markov, Wisniewski, White
Fleury, Ward, Halak

6. 12 team H2H - G, A, PPP, PIM, +/-, SOG, FOW, W, GAA, SV%, SO
-Drafted 3 of 12
-Faceoff Wins was added to skater categories, making C worth much more...
-One (1) UTIL spot was added
-This was probably the most interesting draft I've had in awhile...OV fell to me at #3, then I gambled on Crosby on my second pick at #27, then I proceeded to draft Green-Doughty-Subban at 6-7-8 when I usually don't fill my D until the later rounds...
-Thoughts?

Crosby, Koivu, Pavelski, Plekanec, Weiss (5 C to fill 3 spots [2C + 1 UTIL] plus Little (RW, faceoff monster) should make me competitive in the FOW category, right?)
Ovechkin, Burrows, Elias
Semin, Little, Setoguchi
Green, Doughty, Subban, McCabe
Price, Ward, Pavelec

team 4:
very nice 12 team... team. You're right about the suspect D but you'll get along fine. Just keep an eye out for replacements on the WW as the season goes on.

team 5:
may be your weakest team in my opinion, but not by much and only because you got borderline 1st(Malkin) and a 2nd(Ryan) rounders. I think Malkin will be fine, though, so no biggie. Will be competitive but doesn't quite feel like a championship caliber team. Obviously you have your players you targeted as sleepers, such as White and Hemsky and Markov. Hopefully they stay healthy/produce as hoped.

team 6:
Hard to bet against a team with both Crosby and Ovechkin and you surely have the best defense in your leauge (tho I thought McCabe was still unsigned). Depth on forward isn't great but decent for a 12 teamer and you have the right idea with sliding a center into the UTIL spot.

I've never done a league that counts HITs, BLKs, or SVs let alone all three and we had to do an autodraft to boot so I'm a little concerned about this team:
LW (2): J. Benn, A.Tanguay, J. Staal (C)
C (2): C. Crosby, R. Getzlaf, C. Giroux (RW)
RW (2): E. Malkin (C), P. Kane, A. Hemsky
Util (2): J. Tavares (C), N. Horton (RW), T. Ruutu (LW), P.M. Bouchard (LW,RW)
D (4): T. Enstrom, A. Edler, J. Wisniewski, S. Robidas
G, A, +/-, PPG, SHG, GWG, SOG, FW, HIT, BLK
G (2): J. Halak, S. Varlamov, T. Rask
W, GA, GAA, SV, SV%, SHO

10 teams H2H 1yr Autodraft

some FA are:
LW: A. McDonald, B. Laich, V. Leino, C. MacArthur
C: T. Connolly, B. Marchand, B. Boyle
RW: D. Setoguchi, TJ. Oshie, B. Little, M. Samuelsson, C. Clutterbuck
D: K. Bieksa, C. Fowler, M. Staal, C. Franson, B. Campbell, T. Peckham

Laich, Setoguchi should not be FAs IMO....
Laich > Tanguay (unless you need the assists)
Setoguchi > Bouchard

You may also want to trade for better goaltending...
