Disclaimer: All of the following are based on my (hopefully) unbiased opinion and are in no way statistical fact. Factors going into my decisions include goalie skill, match up, career stats vs, and recent trends. How many goalies start reflects how much I write about them, usually. If you disagree about anything feel free to voice your opinion!

C = CONFIRMATION: All confirmations are listed below or click here (http://goaliestatus.com/)

Must Start
Thomas vs DET: It was a rivalry game, both goalies stayed in for their respective teams, so I don't think Rask will see any extra time aside from maybe one game for Thomas to collect his nerves.
Niemi @NJD: Why did nobody tell me he was playing so great? I saw the good stats, but never realized it amounted to this. He's won 8 of his last 10, has a 1.85~gaa, and .940sv% in that span. Long enough to move him up here if you ask me. His season numbers also look pretty great considering they were below .900 and above 3.00 at the end of 2010.

Good Start
Lundqvist @ATL: Biron lost both consecutive games he was given, and even though he played well Lundy should be back. He's been playing poorly and a week of rest could be exactly what he needed.
McElhinney @CGY: I didn't think he'd make it this high, but his play warrants it. He's allowed 6 goals in his last 4 starts, won 3 of them, has a shutout, and the other 3 are all above .920sv%. Although, apparently Hiller is a game time decision, but they'll probably play it safe.
Kiprusoff vs ANA: Kipper has won 7 of his last 8 and really played great in all of them. If he keeps it up a few more games, you could see his name in blue. His stats against the Ducks are great.

Toss Up
Johnson @NYI: Without Dipietro to fight, will Johnson cause trouble? He would have earned a shutout if he didn't do that, but since he's not chasing any records I'm sure he doesn't care. Back up goalies stepping up for teammates is awesome.
Howard @BOS: Howard has never played the Bruins before. He's allowed 13 in his last 4 and was pulled in his last start. Boston scored 8 in their last game.
Hedberg vs SJS: With 4 of his last 5 games being good, if he can manage this B2B he'll be moving up. I'm unsure of Brodeur's time table, but Hedberg is a viable fantasy option til then.
C Theodore @STL: Theo allowed 11 goals in his last 3 games, but ended up with a solid win and sv% against his former team last week. He didn't have a job to start the season, and he's actually played pretty well. It just goes to show how skilled (or greedy) NHL goalies have become, including backups.
C Lehtonen vs CHI: Lehtonen has allowed 13 goals and lost his last 4, but his sv% has been serviceable enough to want to start him. He's been great in his 2 starts vs Chicago.

Weak Start
Mason vs COL: Mason snapped a 3 game win streak and let in 3 against the Sharks, but managed to get a .906sv%. He'll probably end the year well, but not #1 or #2 goalie well.
Koskinen vs PIT: Will Koskinen go B2B? Do I even need to type this, do people own him? He earned his first win last night and played pretty well, but it's obvious he's not NHL ready.
Pavelec vs NYR: His sv% isn't saving him this month, as he's allowed 16 goals in his last 4 starts, and hasn't cracked .892. Mason isn't the answer, but at least he could shake things up.
Halak vs MIN: Halak stopped 30 of 31 for a great win against Florida, but was that just a tease like the few good games he had last month? I'm starting him out of necessity, but it's a risk no doubt.
C Turco @DAL: Turco is facing his former team for the first time ever. Often times, that adds a little motivation, or makes you a nervous wreck. Them and Pittsburgh are the only teams he's yet to beat.

Don't Start
C Budaj @CLB: Because he sucks.

Loving Niemi right now. The Sharks as a whole have really gotten their act together over the last little while. All season I kind of felt like one of Niemi or Nitty needed to get hurt in order for one of them to step up and start ballin. That bullshit rotation is just no good for either of them and for whatever reason it didn't matter how good or bad a game they had, coach kept rotating so neither guy could get comfortable. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but I hope Nitty stays out for a while :p

Yeah the way it's handled was definitely shitty, but Niitty had a hot streak of about 10 games earlier this season as well. Both goalies are better suited as back up's I think, because like both of them and Garon, to heavy of workloads make them suck. 10-15 game stretches is probably the best way to keep them both hot. It's a little more difficult in Washington since both are capable/future starters, but win and you're in rotations are so stupid.
