Logan Couture was recently dropped and I have no idea why. A guy with 23 goals should not be available but I guess the downside is just 11 assists. There's a lot of mid 30 point guys available on FA. Should I grab Couture? Who should I drop for him? I just grabbed Recchi, Leino and Chara. Also, does it make sense to have 3 Sharks players? Already got Marleau and Boyle....smart or not?

Couture over Spezza, crazy? Maybe, but I made that choice a while ago and the kid has not disappointed. You'll make up the assists with Leino.

He'd be nice to have, but not worth dropping anyone for unless you don't want Spezza. As for having 3 Sharks, it's fine since one is a defenseman. There's a huge common misconception about not wanting too many people from the same team, but here isn't really the topic to get into it.

I'd take him over Recchi.

I could never drop Spezza, he's my favorite player and I enjoy following him in fantasy hockey. It's been a rough year for him and the Sens but he was playing pretty well before getting injured and I had him stashed on the IR the last six weeks, patiently waiting his return. I see him having a strong finish to the season and putting up close to point per game status. He's just too good to drop.

I was thinking Recchi even though I just added him. I figured it made sense to have a 30 point guy from a solid offense in Boston than a third Sharks player.

A few more replies would be great, can't quite decide yet.

It also could depend on what happens with Forsberg. If he goes through waivers, I have no shot at him.

And guys, this is one of the polls where if you vote, please take a minute to state who I should drop. I am inclined to pick him up, just a question if it should be Recchi or someone else going.

**Letang? I'm stacked on D with 3 other studs and he now has 1 point in 9 games. Was it just a hot first half?

Letang's production is intimately tied to the health of Crosby and to a lesser degree, Malkin. Since neither is close to being back, I'd say he could be a safe drop at the moment.

I would drop Recchi WAY before letang

Don't drop Letang.

I wouldn't drop Recchi either. He's been excellent lately. I'd probably stay put for now.

Recchi has played good, but I would probably take Couture over him. Definitely keep Letang.

drop Spezza for Couture and stay the F away from Forsberg

I agree that dropping Spezza is the way to go, but since he doesn't want to next guy in line is Recchi.

I'm leaning toward Recchi, I really do want to pick up Couture but I just don't see how I can let go of Spezza. Even on a bad Ottawa team, he'll get his points and be their top player. Recchi has been solid too so it's a tough call.

And do people really think Letand will continue to put up points with Crosby and Malkin out?

If you won't drop Spezza, then list some other FA D and FA RW.... With Crosby out for the next month (according to TSN) and Malkin out for the season, Letang won't be producing a whole lot. Recchi's been good, but he's also old and could slow down. If there are good D or RW options on the FA then go with the hottest hand - whoever that is.

Other available options on FA:

Plekenec
Steen
Tanguay
Kulemin
McDonald
Brassard
Weiss
Wiesniewski
Rafalski

Only other guys that stand out there are Tanguay, Wisniewski and Kulemin.

Agreed. Plekanec > Couture. Also, for now, Rafalski > Letang.

Honestly, I would make some tough decisions that might not be very popular here.... First, forget Couture. Second, since you won't drop Spezza, drop Leino for Pleks. Third, drop Letang for Rafalski. Keep Recchi.

Get Plekanec.

Pleks is available because I dropped him a few weeks back when he went through an ugly drought and I needed to make up ground with a hotter player. Turned out that I was right that nobody would touch him, and I'm really not quite sure how since he's clearly turned it up again lately. I thinking about taking him but I was thinking that Couture's 23 goals and 7 game winners were too hard to pass up.

Letang is definitely going. He was awesome for me for the first half but the majority of his points came on the PP with Crosby and Malkin....you gotta think he's not as valuable without them.

Leino ain't going anywhere as he's been great alongside Briere and Hartnell.

Rafalski is tempting but I don't even need another D-man as I'm stacked with 3 others.

I dropped Letang for Pleks. Thanks for the advice on that one guys.

But it looks like Leino is going to have go be dropped in favor of Steen. No clue how this guy keeps getting overlooked but it's time I gave him a shot cause his game log is crazy impressive.

15 goals, 40 points on the season. 5 game winners, 48 fantasy pts.
12 points in his last 11 games
20 points in his last 20 games

He's been a point a game player since the beginning of December. How bout some love for this guy?

It's come down to:

Leino

Steen

Couture

This is the last question guys, I've gone back and forth on it a few times and I know I want one of these 3 guys and can't go wrong with any of them.

It should be noted that if I picked up a center and dropped Leino that I would be switching Marleau over to LW and having either couture or Steen as an extra C or UTL.

BUMP......so I can make this last decision.
