The Canucks are no longer a dark horse... those were the dayz. I'll come back to this thread. Very good thread... but i think it would be good to know whose gonna finish dead last in the division as well... instead of opening a "2010/2011 cellar dweller thread." I think it could add to the discussion and provide further insight...

ex:
Northwest Division- 1.Vancouver , 5. Minnesota
and so on...

No coach of the year, Jack adams, Conn Smythe?? Im not complaining, this thread is what this site is all about IMO.

First of all, if Miller didn't even get a nomination for the Hart this year, the only way he gets the trophy next year is if the trophy's voters regret their choices this year.

Second, I can't see a goalie ever winning the Hart again without winning the Vezina.

I don't see how they aren't regretting their choice for this year. I thought he dserved at least consideration for the way he played last year. Only to be beaten out by Rask in a couple of cats., who played 1500 less minutes and 23 less games.

The only reason I can see Luongo winning the Vezina and Miller winning the Hart is because Luongo is on a much better team (offesnively and defensively). If they play the same amount of games this year I can see Luo have 10 more wins because of those two aspects. I don't see anyone on the Buffalo roster putting up 100 points in there career ever. 90 would even be a stretch IMO.

FWIW (i.e. not much), both Bob MacKenzie and Pierre McGuire picked the Wings to win the Cup this season on the TSN Season Preview Show last night. I was kinda surprised, I figured CHI/VAN/WSH would be the favorites.

I'm surprised to see the love here for the Caps to go all the way ........... so many here and in the media were saying they needed to totally retool after last year's playoff debacle.

Ferraro picked the Caps over VAN to win the Cup this yr in the show I mentioned above. James Duthie (the host, who correctly predicted CHI over PHI for the Cup back on Sept 30th last yr), picked CHI over PIT this yr.

Hiller is pretty good. He made team Swiss competitive. The number 1 line with Bobby Ryan and Selanne on the PP should put up good numbers...its tough to see them last. They lost Pronger and now Niedermayer so they could fall extra hard but I have LA 1st and Dallas last. Brad Richards is starting to earn his big money contract but i went with Dallas.

Quote by me.

My darkhorse goalie is G.S. Giguere. Im pretty certain Giggy will get 70%-30% (maybe even 75-25) when it comes to starts. He makes 6 Million a year (hes gonna play) and I already heard him say he wants to be the starter and get the ball rolling. I also heard Gustavsson talk about just stepping up when asked upon. Sounds like both players know their roles and I also see the Leafs starting the season like a bat outta hell. Last year they sucked hard ( 0-whatever) to start the year. I could easily see that team going 5-1 to start the year (15-7 at the 22 game mark) and Giggy being a big part of that early success.

Isles with the Win..Matt Moulson all day long! and the Rangers with the Loss = 5-1 record!!

No rookies really stepping up yet this year which is disappointing. Ennis is the early leader for the Calder I would say.

I'd say the older but still eligible Letestu is in contention right now as well.

Didn't think of him..just scanned over the guys who were predicted Calder winners in this thread. I think Ennis would get it over him to be honest. Boogard could put up big numbers playing with Crosby/Malkin on a regular basis.

I actually think a good number of his Letestu's points so far came from the 3rd line in PIT (or PP). He's only been on Malkin's line for a game or two, to my knowledge.

:wtf:

WTF are you talking about?

No Boogard on PIT as far as I know. The only Boogaard I know of plays for NYR, isn't a rookie, and won't put up big numbers (other than pims) regardless of who he's playing with.

Are you possibly talking about Tangradi? Or Letestu?

He meant Boogard could put up Letestu type numbers playing with Malkin/Crosby.
