Time to see who's back. We'll give till the 21st for everyone to confirm if they're back or not, if anyone drops out or doesn't respond we'll look for more managers starting the 22nd. Keepers will be due Aug 28. Supplemental draft will start September 1, normal draft to follow when that's finished.

Remember this is a 2 division league, bottom 6 of Div 1 move down, top 6 of Div 2 move up. I need someone who was in Div 2 to get the final standings and end of season rosters for me.

For Div 1:

Teams staying put

Darshu (20 cent) - back
Roy Hinske - back
Motorcat - back
Beeshop (beely) - out
Buckeye - back
Boredguy - back

Teams moving down to Division 2

Chiro
Beanz - out
Redneck - back
Chimp - back
Katar - out
Studz - out

For Div 2:

Teams moving up to Div 1

Buckethead - back
jennilou - back
Housemobile (housenuts) - out
Rangers Win
katharsis - back
King Killah - back

Teams staying put

Rico - back
The detroit Ska
S.C. Penguins (shady) - back
mkmayers - back
Blizzard Cats (winger) - back
draft51 - out

I think I have to back out for this year in Div 1.

I will have limited internet access around the time of the draft and I don't want anything to be slowed down for you guys.

Sorry mates.

Well, with Buckethead dropping out, we're back to needing 6 managers and there hasn't been much interest around here. So, in an attempt to not have this die completely there's a couple of options we can go with.

Option 1. Drop it to 10 team leagues. It'll be top/bottom 5 moving instead of 6. We'll delete 1 team that was supposed to stay in each division and 1 team that was going down divs and 1 that was moving up. The players from those teams will just go into the play pool available for drafts. I think we'd be able to find a couple of extra managers in the next few days.

Option 2. Combine the 2 leagues into 1 bigger league. Can either do some form of keep 4+sup draft, or just go with a redraft altogether. It'd be an 18 team league as of now, though i wouldn't be that surprised to see a couple of teams drop if this happens. A 16 team league wouldn't be too bad.

I went with option #1, but I'm the FNG in the league and don't really count.

I like Option 1. Moving up and down between leagues is unique to anything out there. Plus, I'm pissed I dropped to Div. 2 and want the chance to move back up.

New guy as well, i would prefer to see 10 team 2 divisions and voted for it, it is a unique concept. I like how its mixes up the keepers a bit so there is some turnover due to the teams moving up or down.

Motorcat
08-30-2010, 09:22 PM
I'll return either way ...........I'm not a fan of leagues larger than 12 but given the lack of interest it might be easier to field 1 league of 14-16 teams as opposed to finding 20.

No worries Buckethead, not blaming this situation on you or any of the managers that didn't come back. It is what it is, just trying to make the best of it.

Yeah, and the only reason I was a little less active last year is I have 4 money leagues I'm in on my main Yahoo account so this league was on an alternate account and I could never be bothered to sign out and sign in the new one.

Maybe next year I'll be back as the 2 division thing is very cool.

For future reference, you can use your main browser to stay signed into your main Yahoo account, and then use Firefox, Internet Explorer or which ever browser you don't use to stay logged into your alternate account. That's how I do it.

Yahoo increased the amount of teams you can have from 4 to 8, atleast for football and NBA. Same for Hockey?

i think option 1 or 2 are both fine

if we can get 20 then 2 x 10 leagues, if not do 16 with a re-draft and maybe try to build 2 divisions from there next year

A question...are all 24 teams drawing from one set of players?

edit: that might be a dumb question...it would have to be that way if its a keeper, right?

edit again: I see this is answered in the other thread. It is two pools.

i just added a few public teams and was up to 5, so it seems like limit is indeed increased.

New manager here, I really can,t say one way or the other...first and second division seems like it rewards active managers but one league may be
Rea,ity if interest is not there..

boredguy

Okay looks like there's enough interest in making it two 10 team divisions. I'll work out which teams we'll have to eliminate tonight, try to get the 2 new managers and have them all pick teams by sunday, keepers due monday, drat starts tuesday. It'll be pushing it close to get the draft finished on time but i think we can manage.

I'll also need someone to create the league in Yahoo for division 2.

Gern Blansten
09-03-2010, 08:21 PM
We keep four but don't have to keep anyone, correct? The rest go back into the larger group. Then there is a draft for all the people who are moving AND to round out rosters of teams that did not keep four? Then on to the regular draft?

Sorry for so many questions. Might help me decide who to keep or not.

Thanks!

boredguy
09-03-2010, 08:30 PM
Teams changing division can keep up to 4 but can also keep less then 4. Then there's a draft to get those teams to 4 players, then it moves on to the regular draft for everyone.

Okay, eliminated teams, because of this IKnowKungFu is going to have to pick a new team as only 1 team staying in Div 1 had a manager missing so that one had to eliminated. Gern, Bearcats and Krown who were set to join the league are still able to go with the teams they chose. There were a couple of people interested in teams so hopefully should get them signed up and chosen teams by tomorrow.

Do the teams moving get to see who's available before choosing their keepers? Or see the rosters of the other teams?
