I've only just become privy to this because I've noticed a ton of Penguins sporting their lids. Whit/Army/Geno/Hossa/Crosby/Staal/Mad Max etc.. so I decided to see wtf the big deal was.

So anyway apparently their lids and their clothing line is real hot stuff amongst hockey players/nhlers.. but what gives? Is this a real popular trend up in Canada? Any of you live outside of Canada and actually have heard of Gongshow or like to show off their gear? Do any of you guys up in Canada actually got any of their lids/hoodies? Is it really as hush hush as they try to make it sound?

Basically though I am just wondering how is the quality of their merch? (texture/stitching/durability etc)

I've heard the term 'Gong show' used many times, but never related specifically to hockey. Never seen any of this clothing line either. Completely new to me.

Whenever I use the term, it's always in relation to a crazy party/event where everybody is drunk and ridiculous/crazy stuff is happening, as in "This party is gonna be a complete Gong Show". or "This party is turning into a friggin gong show", and also in reference to specific ppl, i.e "Did you see how drunk Jimmy was last night? What a Gong show that guy was!".

Never knew about the hockey aspect of it though. News to me!

Never heard of the brand....it's probably some players company and he gets his buddies to wear the gear in hopes more than 5 ppl will buy it. Tucker & Corson had a brand called Kewl a few yrs back as well...same deal

i used to wear a gongshow lid about 4 years ago. one with the mesh back and straw front. looked pretty sharp. got some good comments on it, but unfortunately the rain ended up eating away at the straw.

i think i'll check out the site again and order some more stuff.
forgot all about it.

Weird eh. Nobody I have really talked to has really heard/seen much of gongshow gear either.. spread the world I guess? $$$ Trendy, kinda hit or miss imo, but some of the styles are pretty sharp. I was thinking about picking up a piece of head gear for my bro. I kinda like the outdoor hockey hero

or maybe the shotblocker. it's pretty slick and real simple and kick ass b/c it's Pittsburgh/Pens colors. Anyway he just sent me a sick ass Malkin McFarlane figurine and a life size replica Penguins Stanley Cup Championship Banner so I owe him one.

Just ordered about $250 worth of stuff last night from here. They've got some sweet stuff out now, I have a lot of shirts and hats from them. Worth checking out again. The slippers are nice but they don't make em big enough for me. I also like the travel bag they just released. It's pricey but I might get one in the new year.

Weird how this thread got revived today... I was in Source for Sports earlier today and saw the Gongshow line for the first time. Not really my style anymore, but some interesting stuff.

I've never heard of them here in western Canada. I'll have to check it out.

The Kewl line of jackets was popular for a while for hockey teams but they all seemed to last only a short time before the zipper was gone or a tear started. Wanted kids to buy a new one every year.

My cap arrived today ......... luv it.

The left side of the bill is shredded like a cougar ripped into it.

All black cap except for a black inlay which makes it look like blood where the rips and shreds are.

I'm with you...ugly athlete gino styles. I feel like the guys on jersey shore would wear a gongshow hat with an Affliction shirt. I just don't get it I guess.
