I was considering adding a 'mobile' theme so that the site is more accessible via Blackberry, iPhone, etc..
Am I the only one who would make use of such a feature?

I've accessed the site a few times but only to check on things, never to post. I don't think anything I say is that important.

Right now to access it via the Blackberry is very cumbersome.

Well, it's pretty smooth on the iPhone, but we already knew that.

I've tried on my Dare. Browsing the place works fine. I'm pretty sure my Dare doesn't have the capability to login to anything though.

A good fellar to ask would be that RJV guy that used to post all these live updates from Flyers' games. I'm not sure if you remember, but it used to be entertaining back in the day.

I know I'm not one of the big gurus here, but I would find a mobile theme convenient for when I am browsing HI on my iPhone.

Listen to you high rollers with your iPhones. Why don't you just use the damn thing to make calls! :lol:I know I'm not one of the big gurus here, but I would find a mobile theme convenient for when I am browsing HI on my iPhone.

I love my phone and have little complaints but I find the mobile experience at HI (and most other forums) on the blackberry quite annoying.. not sure how you could improve it or what that even entails but I am all for it!

Not really. Wouldn't hurt, though.

Here's a good example of a mobile version of a forum http://hfboards.com/?styleid=84

I would probably browse the forums on a mobile if there was an easy way to do it. The few forums I try to visit are a pain to view.

Here's the problem, I've yet to find a mobile theme I'm happy with, I'm working on it though. I'm starting to lose interest and regret mentioning it. ;)

Another place I frequent (which runs IP Board 3.1.0) just enabled their mobile theme (and an iPhone app)... what an amazing difference! no more zooming in just to be able to click on a link or read a post - can you imagine that?
Time for you to start earning your keep here, Jeff... get to work. :p

I use mobile very rarely but I do like to have the option, I don't have 3g or anything like that so I mostly do PC.

What kind of differences can we be expecting?

What kind of differences can we be expecting? It's not a heck of a lot different -- I have it running on another forum I support and there's not a great deal of distinction from the user perspective. Maybe a nice little feature here and there. Wouldn't get to excited about it. However, from a back end perspective, it's a significant upgrade. All the themes need to be redone.. the database conversion takes awhile.. etc.

There it is -- the double dash! :scared:
Oooh, so new user themes are coming?

That's one dash. One of them would be a hyphen. :D
A dash is longer than a hyphen, which is why its represented typographically by two hyphens. Word processing applications autocorrect this to the actual dash character, '—'.
... Not to bring another thread into this one...

Ah, I see! Well then I don't see dashes used often in print...
So new themes?

It wouldn't. It'd be way better.
Try http://mobility.mobi on your phone browser for an example.
