Server Issues - 11/14/2008

As some of you have noticed, the server has gone down a few times in the last couple of days. We haven't pinpointed the cause of the outages, but I'm working on it. Hopefully the next time it crashes, we'll be able to get it back online more promptly.

Just wanted to give you all an update on what's going on.

I was reviewing the server after these crashes and it occurred to me that getting fairly antiquated. I'm sure the time will soon come for us to order a new one, which as you all know is expensive. vBulletin also needs to be upgraded, something I've not done because of the cost involved. So if anyone would like to make a donation via PayPal to 'rajahwwf@shaw.ca', I'm sure HI would be very appreciative.

the best way to get donations would be to post a sticky on the fantasy forums.. or more specifically the hockey fantasy forums.

Could you maybe post how much you need and how much you've gotten so far? I find that's pretty helpful in encouraging people to help out and avoids apathy.

Then again, most of these people won't give $10 for Stat Tracker. :lol:

I'm one of those. But I find HI to be MUCH more valuable.

Dang... I hadn't even noticed server issues.. though my hours of surfing are limited and a little funky lately. Anyhow, I will def. swing a few dollars HI way... after pay day next week sometime.

You guys should follow the PBS model and keep the annoying sitewide notice up until a certain target is met.
