View Full Version : One more rate my team. Last Minute Tweaking Advice.

This is my team in my 10 GM Yahoo Keeper league. I think I did quite well in the draft, snagging Niedermayer, Franzen, and Marleau to Complement my keepers.

I'm hoping to get some commentary on my goaltending. Do you think I can make a go of it with these guys, or look to improve through a trade? As you can see in my sig, I have been the runner up the past two seasons and would love to get back on top.

Finally, I was offered a trade of Gomez/Carcillo for my Franzen/Marleau. My initial thought was to just deny it as ludicrous, but I do traditionally finish in the bottom of the pool in Penalty minutes. Do I have enough offence to make that sacrifice?

I know it's a lot of questions. Thanks for your help.

I say keep Marleau and Franzen. Hopefully Marleau can get wing eligibility, and that will make him much more valuable.

There has to be a better player than Clarkson on the waiver wire no?

If anything, id look to upgrade your RW. There are a few question marks there...
I would wait a month or so into the season and see how your goalies do....make a decision then. Backstrom Leclaire could be great...or not...who knows.

I wouldn't do that trade either... you can find PIM guys easily on the FA market.

In terms of your goalies, you might want to see if the person that owns Kolzig (assuming there is one) or Raycroft (is there any Razor owners??) would be willing to trade you a Ward/Miller type guy for the second half of the TB or Colorado duo and a player.

Nah... I work at a desk... it gets boring, so fantasy hockey advise giving kills the day :D

As you can see to the left I've posted a few times over the last couple years ;)

If the goaltending categories are enough in your league you may want to package one of your elite defensemans in a deal with one of your goalies to improve. your offense is pretty stacked the only thing I question on your team is carrying five defensemen and who is Clarkson in a 10 teamer?

The league actually ices 5 defencemen a night.

Clarkson is no one(same with Christensen really), and basically filled out the last round of my draft. The thing about my team is that I tend to compete but lose badly in PIMS, Clarkson seems like a guy who will fight most nights.
I could also look to Koci, Parros, any of those guys.

If I have enough offence I will run goons in both of my utility spots and just rack up the minutes all season.
