I have Pommy but have been offered Doan..pretty even offer IMHO, which player edges it ? Stat cats below
both are pretty even...pim's go to doan while both should be close in plus- this season with an edge to pomms but for some reason i do prefer Doan But in trades where there is no real benefit to ur team i always stay put

Doan, if my memory isn't off, hell give you shots as well as PIMs. Eitherway, I'd prefer Doan.

With PIMs involved Doan gets the edge here. I also see Doan doing a bit better point wise and +/- wise simply because Phoenix is the better team this year IMO.

Pominville. With Doan now playing with Turris and Carcillo its hurts his pt output.

Isn't he playing with Jokinen and Mueller on the top line? It would make no sense for Doan to play on the 2nd line...

I saw Doan was playing with Turris and Carcillo as well. He'll still get PP time with Jokinen, you'd think, right? At any rate, I still like him more than Pomms.
Small hijack here: what kind of D man is worth a straight up trade with Doan?

You should be able to get a Timonen type guy easily, Kaberle, Redden... it's always tough to guage trading an apple for an orange. Shoot high first (Chara type) then see what he comes back with.

Many said Ron Francis played a somewhat boring type game, but I know I'd take his point output easily! :hic:

hehe...well it's just you know what to expect from Pominville (~80 points) and solid +/- with shitty PIMs and that's just too boring for me :p....heck you could say marty brodeur is too boring for me

I made this exact trade a little while ago. I traded Pominville straight up for Doan because I figured the point totals would be pretty similar but Doan brings more intangibles like SOG and PIMs. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Doan's point totals were far superior because as someone else mentioned Phoenix is going to a much better team.

I'm liking Doan especially as he takes the odd face off or two...I've had a new offer...Zidlicky / Doan for Pommy / Bieska? Do I do this? (I know Zids is hurting at the moment)

I'd think about it, but do you think you could snag someone other than Bieksa? He seems to be a borderline FA player in a few pools. He only has had one decent year, so it's hard to bank on him going back to the old self or not.

I'd be giving up Pommy /Bieska and getting Zidlicky & Doan

I'd do this deal.
I'd go with Doan because I think he will have similar stats to Pominville, except Doan will help out on SHP. Doan was near top in the league last year with 9 SHP and its pretty tough to get a guy who can net you a decent amount of SHP and not just be a defensive player.
