I think a lot of people are going to be surprised about the Braves and the NL East. I think it will be a three-team race for the majority of the season. I think it will come down to late August and September. I still have faith in Bobby Cox. If their BP can hang on and their closing situations can come through, they can hang with the Mets and Phillies. I don't think the Phillies rotation is worth a hill of beans. NL Central - I think the BrewCrew are going to be a force. The NL West, well...I think the three California teams are in trouble. I think Colorado will own this division. AL East and Central already went through in the other threads. AL West. I think this one is owned by LAAAAAAAAA. I don't think the rest of the west really has a legit shot.

I think Seattle will take the AL West this year, just ahead of the LAA. They were solid last year and I think they'll build on that and take the division this year. I think the Tigers wil run away with their division, Cleveland will be good, but won't have enough to get in with the wild card because the NYY will feed on everyone in their division other than Boston.
I think the NL East and West will be very close and competative. The NYM will take the East with an improved pitching staff, and Atlanta and Philly be will battling for the wild card over whoever doesn't take the West. I don't know if Colorado has what it takes to win the whole division with how good the D-Backs are (losing Kaz hurts the Rockies, but our pitching staff should be a little better and Tulo is another year older). The Dodgers will make some noice in that division as well. The reason both divisions will be so close is that theres only one team in each to bottom feed on, so I don't know if either will have a 100 game winner the way the other divisions will. I listed Colorado as the wild card because I'm a big homer, but honest it could come down to another playoff this year to see who takes the wild card, and I hope it does because it's more fun when things are that close

Wrong, lol. :pwe'll see, just because you have santana doesnt mean you have won anything yet. braves have a potent lineup still even after losing a all star in renteria and andruw jones. I trust the backend will be better and hopefully the starters can be productive. head to head i like the Braves alot against the Mets, ofcourse its not 162 games h2h but we will see what happens on the field!

Yeah.... You tell 'em! :D Plus Santana was only 15-13 last year. Haha... His K's will go up since he will be able to strike out the shitbox NL pitchers who can't bat. But I say his ERA and WHIP stay in the same vicinity as it was last year.

Marty.......Based on what logic do you have the A's over the Mariners??:wtf:lol i was waiting for someone to comment on that. i dont really like the a's but i do get to see them alot, and i feel bad for my friends/family that like them so i will actually want to see them do ok haha, if i was actually betting money i would have the mariners finishing over the a's for the season 100 out of 100 times. if the a's stay somewhat healthy they could be a ok team though not playoff material but ok.

I want to pick my Yanks as the division winner, but I concede that Boston looks reayy strong. Still I see NY in the playoffs where anything can and will happen. I think the Mets will win their division and could be the NL team in the series. Can't decide if it will be Philly or Arizona in the Wildcard for the NL. NL Central is a little murky for me aside from the Reds and Pirates at the bottom. I think the Cubs should take it, but Houston and the Brewers will fight for second.
Pet Peeve- are we ever going to fix the 4 team AL West? C'mon that isn't a "division"- let's align it right, the NL Central has half a league. You can say timezone, but still.

I know it's early still, but wow Detroit could be 0-7 after today's game, they are down 5-0 to the Red Sox in the 7th right now.

Yeah WTF is goin on with Detroit. Their lineup is stacked on paper, and their pitching staff should be damn good also. They just cannot seem to buy a run right now.

Dontrelle Willis is a piece of shit and he is a curse to the team.

I thought I was excusing the entire team - offense and pitching when I said Dontrelle Willis is a piece of shit and is a curse to the team. No?
Seriously though... On paper, that team is stacked. Real odd what's happening out there in Detroit right now.

So looking back.. Florida, Seattle, Texas, Tampa seem to be the biggest surprises based on these predictions.

Tampa for sure, but not anymore, they are going to be good for many, many seasons to come.

By the way, with T-Bay's win today, they now have 71 wins on the season, that's the most wins ever in one season by the Rays.

As I say all this, both Crawford and Longoria hit the DL, see how they do with out two of there best players.
