I see he's still having trouble in the post season, 0-18 in his last how ever at bats it is, (he has a few walks in there, like last night he was walked twise) but other then that, nothing.

I think the Yanks fans will forget fast how good of a season he had if he cant get it going in the post season.

He seems to be one of those guys who can have an awsome reg season, but once the playoffs role around he cant keep it up, kind of like P. Manning up untill last season :D

I must say I love it being a Yankee and A-Rod hater, haha.

Keep talking about the Yanks. I would probably be frustrated if my team was constantly playing for 2nd place, at best. The whole team isn't hitting. They faced 2 top SP. The true test is game 3. If they can't hit that guy, they don't deserve to win.

I will keep talking about them.

Hey I'm not frustrated one bit, I will be the 1st too tell you the Jays sucked major ass this year, I dont care, say what you want about them, the Jays are in the toughest divsion in basbeall, and even though they opened up the money vault, they still cant keep up with the money the Yanks and Red Sox have to throw around.

You say they faced two top SP, yes that is true, but, the Yanks have one of, if not the best lineup in baseball, and the best hitter in the game today, (at least during the reg season) bad time of the year for a team to not hit anymore, right now the Red Sox are facing a pretty damn good piching staff them selfs, yet they can still hit.

Good pitching beats good hitting. Carmona looked like Cy Young today. Sabathia wasn't great but he battled. Let's see what they do against Westbrook. If they suck, then fire away.

We will have to see what happens tomorrow. A few months ago, people left the Yanks for dead and they proved them wrong. I am not going to say that well at least they got to the playoffs. Anything short of a World Series appearance is a disappointment to me, but my team is still in the game and off the golf courses.

The Yanks pitching was pretty gutty with Pettite, Chamberlain and Rivera. Pettite played like a vet, bending but not breaking, and while Joba did give up the tying run, those bugs were bizarre. He looked covered head to toe in those pests. You can say that the other team also had to deal with it, and I can't argue that, but at least they have seen this before. I think one of the announcers said the bugs were "Canadian midges", so maybe your Jays sent them.:scared:

Anyone who makes these posts automatically loses so much respect from me.

Here's the cold, very hard facts about playoff baseball. It's a REDICULOUSLY small sample size. It's not clutch or un-clutch that causes someone to be bad. It's not like the best baseball player in the history of the world just suddenly forgets how to do everything come playoff time. The fact of the matter is year to year you get a very, very small sample size, and that leads to some rediculously skewed numbers.

As for this year. Tell me where Rodriguez's bad post-season was.

He played 4 games. He had one bad one(0-4 with 3 K's), and reached base at least twice in all other games for the Yankees. 0-2 with 2 BB in game one. 2-4 with a run in game 3, and 2-5 with a HR in game 4.

He ended up being probably the Yankees 2nd best hitter in the series(behind Cano).

Here's an interesting stat.

Jorge Posada? 1-5 tonight, .133 AVG in the series.

Jeter? .176 AVG in the series.

All these guys performed badly also.

Here's another thing to think about : Whenever people talk about how A-Rod hasn't won anything since becoming a Yankee...guess what? Neither has Jeter, neither has Posada, and neither has Mariano Rivera. Infact, the only year they had a chance to win anything "the best closer in baseball history" completely screwed them over by blowing save after save against the Red Sox.

Just to further prove my point, here's a list of some other guys who've done badly in the post-season, but don't receive near the attention A-Rod gets...

Vladamir Guerrero, absolutely anemic his last group of playoff series'

Alfonso Soriano, same thing

Here's my last point, Alex Rodriguez, and every player in MLB has bad games, sometimes several in a row. It's a 4 month season, slumps happen. Over 162 games however, year after year after year, Alex Rodriguez is the best baseball player ever. The past few years, he's hit snags in the playoffs. It doesn't mean he can't do it, he's had some rediculous playoff series', especially when with Seattle.

This year, he had literally one bad game. The other games, if A-Rod came to you night after night and said "I'm gonna get on base twice tonight coach", you'd take it. Easily. He was good in this series. Not earth shattering, but good.

Otherwise I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are un-clutch! Look @ how bad they were against the Rockies! OMFG, like, 3 bad games! IN A ROW!!

Aramis Ramirez, might as well not even get a paycheque, he had 3 bad games too! HE DIDNT EVEN GET A HIT IN THE SERIES OMFG!!

They've played what, like 3 games per playoff appearance lately(the Yankees), and A-Rod is judged on that. It's rediculously unfair, especially considering the Yankees would have been 49 games out of the playoffs by mid-season if it wasn't for A-Rod literally carrying the team on his back for the first half. They should kiss his feet for getting him there, and playing well when they got there, and stop bitching because he had one bad game while he was there.

Crosby had 2 bad games last playoffs, quick, let's start a "Sidney Crosby's a choke artist" thread and see how that goes.

well said Cayuga- and you didn't even mention the 22 million dollar pinch hitter Giambi

I could understand if it were Red Sox fans that bash him so badly; but it seems to be Yankee fans. Hope they have fun with... ???? at 3B next year.

I agree with you Cayuga. The blame can't be shouldered on A-Rod alone. The hitting in general was poor, and Wang and Clemens weren't getting it done either. I think you have to tip your hat to the Indians. They played a good game, had some luck fall their way and they were very patient- something that other teams aren't. That is how they got it done. Good luck to Cleveland. May they go all the way, they have waited long enough and I'd like to think my team got beat by the best.
