Meaningless, probably. But I have nothing to do so hear goes. What theme do you use and why? I go for Metallic because it's the first one I came across that I've stuck ever since I joined. I find it more organized and easier on the eyes to read.

I use metallic, but voted black and gold accidentally. Just checked out the other themes and they seem really goofy now having gotten used to this one for so long.

Metallic for me as well.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the other themes at all.

That plastic theme Doc uses really looks gay... with all the lime green and all :p

Really? Cause I've never changed mine ever (didn't even know there were different themes), so I assume I'm using the default setting, and my background is black, with white font.

I have the Metallic setting on, I tried one other setting awhile back and couldn't get into it. Can't remember which, but it was weird.

I use dark plastic ........... its not lime green though. More of a medium green on my puter - like grass.

Metallic... but it's just what I'm used to. I do like the fact that this site has the black background with white font - kind of separates it somewhat from a ton of others.

I use plastic, easier on the eyes than all that white writing on black background.

PS: I just checked the vbulletin default and it's pretty cool - lighter colours like plastic, but with blue instead of green.

I've been using black on white since I signed up, until yesterday haha.

now I don't mind plastic, or the "default vbulletin" or whatever. I think I'll just change it when I get bored of looking at the same thing now.

Interesting results. Would there be a revolt among the masses if I just used Metallic and got rid of the others? It would make my job a lot easier when I update the forums...

I have no problem with Metallic. Is it the same as the default? I normally just use default, just switched to Metallic, and can't really see a difference. regardless, whether Defualt and Metallic are the same or not, I'm fine with just going with Metallic. Especially if it makes things easier for you, Jeff.

My $0.02.

I might add.. it would allow me to focus on a single theme and make it better. Where as now I'm just glad they still work from upgrade to upgrade. :)

Good question Jeff....I guess we will see once more people reply to it. But I know, for me, that I tried a couple times to go with the other themes only to revert back to the Metallic. I find it easier on the eyes and it's a better layout. If you can stick with one and the majority will agree to it and make it better rather than trying to spread it out to the others which aren't being used as much guessing from the poll results then why not. Every time you guys come up with an update it's good. If the focus can be narrowed to one theme and keep making it better than I'm all for it. This is my two cents.

I figured that might be what you meant, but wasn't really sure. So it's not that it's too white, but that it's too BRIGHT. Can't you turn your brightness or contrast setting on your monitor down a bit? That's all I did when I found it to be a little bright on my iMac at home.

dark plastic.

here is what i think of each of the settings:

metalic makes me feel like im using a computer that does not have color settings, only black and white.

plastic sucks cause the background is too bright.

black and gold makes it tough to tell which threads ive read, replied, or ignored when im scanning the forums. furthermore, i dont like how the font is the same color as some of the dividers. also the other dividers contrast is shit because its dark gray on black...

default v-bulletin is like EVERY other site, and i dont like the white background.

i like dark plastic the best because the background is black and i can easily tell which threads ive read, ignored, and replied to when scanning forums because of the contrast in colors of the envelopes on the background (green on black and red on black). i also like the contrast in colors for the dividers between posts inside each thread.

I originally voted for Metallic, but ever since this thread prompted me to check out the other settings, I've stuck with Dark Plastic for the reasons eyk outlined above.

I just like keeping this site as white writing on black background... kind of distinguishes it from most others!

Excellent post eyk. So good in fact it prompted me to go back to Dark Plastic and try it again. I managed to stick with it for a whole day until I couldn't take it anymore and decided to go to IMO, the best skin which is Metallic. You're points are all right I think, but I think it's much easier to find the unread posts in Metallic. To add the black dot is easier to find and the bold really sticks out at you if it's not been read. I feel the unread posts' link is harder to click on because it is smaller, but that is irrelevant I just found it annoying, lol. I just think the one you're using for me is too hard on the eyes. This one is generally easier, IMO again.
I just think the contrast is better and it doesn't matter if you can tell the border between post because it's quite evident. Also, I think avatars and sigs look nice in Metallic. But I guess to each his own. And you're post was good enough for me to give it another chance. I think I'm decided though.

I've switched from Metallic to Plastic for the first time. I've tired of the black background; found the contrast white on black a little bothersome on the eyes lately. We'll see how long this lasts.
