6. I Shall Be Thunder
7. mkmayers

9. Victorious Secret
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
11. b_illin
12. The Kickassologists
I think there was 1 trade involving picks.
Pittsburgh Steelers gets the 3. round pick from Victorious Secret.
In order for everyone to have the same number of picks Victorious Secret gets Pittsburgh Steelers last round pick.
(And redneck might want to check the spelling of his team name and correct it on Y! if he pleases. :D)

if with are going with end-of-season standings, should I have the 5th pick? I finished 8th after all.

Picks 1-6 are the reverse order of the regular season standings (no consolation bracket results).
Picks 7-12 are the reverse order of the championship bracket (Winner gets 12th pick - 6th team gets 7th pick).
You actually ended up 7th after the regular season. The final standings include the brackets (for whatever reason). But if you look at the seedings of the consolation bracket you see where every team ended the regular season.

I know I miss Ben already. He looked SHARP last night... he is going to have a great year.
Eli/Nicks
Ben/Wallace
good deal for us both.
Sorry about Colston... he seems to be injury prone anymore..

Ok, so basically I want to keep:
Brees
AP
Megatron
Maclin
Wells
Green-Ellis
Witten
Sims-Walker
Problem is that I listed 8 players, so one of those guys won't be kept so if you like one of those bottom 3 guys or guys available (Boss, Mason, Tate, Torain, Washington), let's get something done before tomorrow's deadline!!

Don't seem like many teams go their keepers in on time unless they were messaged privately ?
Quick question, are we still allowed to pull trades with players did not decide to keep or are players not kept automatically tossed into FA starting tomorrow ?

I send my keepers by PM everytime - when you post them publicly you're just giving other ppl an advantage

I don't really feel that way. Keepers are gonna be known before or on draft day, regardless, so how do you think it gives any advantage ?

I got 10 keeper sets and I already entered them.
And even if I tried to be as thorough as I could please check for yourself if I made a mistake: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/10767/draftresults?drafttab=team
And no more trades but you still have the right to switch your keepers in case something happens.

Because if 11 teams post their keepers and I still haven't posted, then I get to see who has been kept and who has not so, using my team as an example, if there were a lot of WR"s kept and not a lot of TE's, it would make for an easier decision between Sims-Walker and Witten. In my case, Witten won out, but I think you see my point.

These 2 teams now have an advantage because they can see 70 of the players that will be kept which will help influence the 7 they keep perhaps. (that's part bitching, but mostly answering Sponge)

Ahh I see your point. I don't think that much into this I guess.. Plus with my team I think it was pretty obviously who would be kept

Have to agree with Bill. Not sure who the last two teams are, but we need to invoke penalties for late keepers.
Amazing Oopah
08-22-2011, 06:20 PM
agree with what the guys have said above. The two teams with missing lists should be docked a pick at least.
Also, what do you guys think about giving the consolation winner the 1st seed next season starting this season? I'm in an HI baseball keeper with some of you guys in which we have this rule and I think it works pretty well there. Maybe we could look it at in here too?

I am also good with penalizing the teams who did not get keepers in on time. Everyone else seemed to have no problem. Question is -- what sort of penalty is fair ?

I vote no to punishing late posters (this year at least - next year make it clear that there is a penalty though) and I vote no to that #1 seed consolation thingie - I like bottom-6 by regular season standings and top-6 by playoffs.

I concur with Bill. Since we never specified penalties before I'll let this one slide. For next year teams will lose their last draft pick when they are late with their keepers. We can also discuss if they should lose the next pick every day (or every 2 days) when they are late.
As far as the draft order goes before last season there was no consolation bracket and I clearly stated when I was saw it at the end of the last regular season that at least for this year we'll keep the old settings.
We have now time to discuss it though I personally prefer the old setting.

08-23-2011, 06:12 PM
Agreed, we can't penalize teams this year...I don't want to change the rules after the fact.
For next year though, we need to penalize more than their last pick and an extra pick every 2nd day. I'd say your last pick, plus an additional pick every 12 hours after that.

I was looking over the keepers on the league's draft result page, and shouldn't our keepers be our first 7 picks and not our last 7?

IIRC, it just looks like that pre-draft...as soon as the draft starts, all your keepers will appear on your team.

if there's no reward for a consolation round, then what's the point of having it? (I know, competitiveness and all that jazz, but really....) Might as well make it competitive by dangling the 1st overall pick next year for the winner. Otherwise, I think we should just scrap it and go back to only the championship round like the years before.

well fuck. I had to work another double and missed draft so I had my friend login and pick for me. Just got on to check it all out. I basically gave him a few names that I wanted and positions I needed filled and let him go to work. I guess I should have put together a draft list weeks ago but I really thought I'd make it. Not too happy with Cooley as my first pick (I told him to get best available TE with my first pick or Boldin if still available) but I guess that's my own damned fault. I knew Gates wouldn't fall to me either. lol. He texted me that he grabbed Cooley and I was like "fuck me, seriously? I think he is still injured so get another TE please!" Then I see he grabs Heap way later. Jesus.
Open for trades, RB available, willing to package also. Would like upgrade at WR or TE.

Since we can't delete the consolation, what about having a poll on whether the consolation winner can have the 1st pick next season or not? We can still make the change after the draft, won't affect anything 'til next season.

I'm open to trades...look at my team and see what you like.
PS: your friend picking for you makes sense...Cooley, then Brown...I was like WTF!! He/she did make some decent picks later on though if I recall.

How about we stop fretting over rewarding someone for winning when it doesn't matter. Who fucking cares about the consolation winner!!

Well dude, there are a number of reasons why the idea annoys me.
1. it rewards someone who didn't make the playoffs - why should the #1 pick not go to the championship winner...or the runner-up? Why reward winning the consolation playoffs with such a valuable prize?
2. if you win the consolation finals then you probably don't need that #1 pick the way the last place team does
3. so the manager who finishes 6th, one spot better than the consolation winner, gets the 7th overall pick but the 7th place finisher gets the #1???
4. if there is a super stud coming out of college, some teams might purposely miss the playoffs knowing their team will have a good chance to get that top pick. (if someone wants to tank the season, it's much more obvious in the current setup than in your proposed setup)
5. the season hasn't even started yet so why even think of the consolation bracket - I go into every season KNOWING I will make the playoffs....I don't think about being the best loser.
PS: and yes, in a bad mood. On vacation and all fucking afternoon the old fucks I work with have been bugging me to get their emails setup/fixed as apparently I am the 'tech guy' now too. One guy was upset that his blackberry wasn't getting his emails. I asked him if he set it up on his blackberry and he said no, the computer forwards it. I asked how the computer was supposed to know this and he said he did not know. Wow! (and this is a very smart, very successful guy....how can you think it just magically forwards???)
