View Full Version : The Official SOG Award
It's no surprise Ovechkin will lead the league in shots on goal again. But I'm curious as to how much do you guys think he'll get this time around. I think Esposito holds the record for 550 in one season. Well that's what I heard on Off The Record anyways. But what's your prediction?

Well, it looks like he's on pace to hit around 450

That's pretty good. Mathematically though he's on a pace for 445 right now.

He's not messing around, eh  . Just to be safe, I guess.
392. Way off from his 425 in his first year.

Tough year for him through & through & I feel bad for him 'cause he had everything going for him... Couln't break 100 pts poor guy. He'll bounce back next season though & will probably be available much later in drafts in some leagues... Maybe like 2nd or 3rd pick.
Hehehehee!

Yeah I definitely agree. I like him because he's a first team kind of player. His goal was just to make the post season and he couldn't deliver. I believe that's why his stats suffered.

Having Backstrom center him might make a difference. Even though Backstrom has zero NHL experience, he's got a legitimate shot at the Calder trophy next year. Has to be better than Zubrus centering him all year, or Pettinger or whoever it was after the trade :freak:
Interesting Fact to those who have Ovechkin in a league that counts SOG:
Ovechkin now leads the league with 299 SOG. Carter is second with 198. That's a 101 lead!!!

I win SOG nearly every week just because of AO......I had 33 more shots last week than anyone else in my league

I know I lose that cat if/when I face anybody with him on their roster.
