Well aren't you a savvy GM. On what planet would it be acceptable to trade a player with the potential to pick up 90 points (even with his slow start, wrist) for an inconsistent injury risk?

Zetterberg is not that good and I would look to dump him for a talent like Frolov if I was retarded enough to draft him(thus making me NOT a savvy GM) He had a good year last season but that was last year. It's a new year, Heartsy, get with the program or die holding your breath waiting for the injured Zetterberg to rack up points.

Zetterberg has 15 points in 26 games, dude...Here's a reality check for ya...We'll give Zetts 1 point per game, which I know he won't AVG, for 50 games giving him 76 games played for the year..That will get him to 65 points... That's the reality. Your fantasy, hearts, Zetterbeg out producing Frolov, ect, is not reality. Frolov has 28 points in 29 games, is healthy and will be around 85 points. Frolov is electric and is one of the best young talents in the league. He's doing what he is supposed to do while Ztterberg overachieved on a great Wings team that racked up 124 points last year..
I bet people are kicking themselves for drafting this smut in the second round. His AVG pick in ALL of yahoo drafts was 22.4 overall and round 2.3
Part of being a savvy GM is to KNOW when to cut YOUR losses. To trade a name, because that's all he is right now, for a guy who DOES produce is the exact meaning of the word...

I'm a production GM as well and could care less about "names". Like '93 said, Zetts got his name "last" year.
Frolov is a real talent and the Kings just let him play. The Wings just don't score enough for Zetts to keep up.
Mr.Hockey's numbers projection is valid IMO.;)

They both been in the league the same amount of time and Zetterberg was healthy last year and had the 85 points season. Career....Zetts has 187 points to Frolovs 161...And That's without Frolov having his breakout year...And this is it...

I don't buy the term "proven" when talking about Zetts. His current scoring pace will put him at the same point level as his first 2 seasons.(43/44)
You could look at last year as an aboration and say he's really an average producer, especially if he does end up with 45 or so points this year.
Having said that I still think he'll come in at about 60ish give or take 10.

key term was "more" proven... which he is... he isn't like frolov who started hot as hell last year and then imploded lol... I think they are about even considering zett has already demonstrated his ability but frolov hasn't put a full season together yet.

Yup, and the only reason I drafted him was because out of the first 16 people that drafted ahead of me, 8 grabbed LWer's!! (weird draft it was)
I plucked Frolov from waivers so having Zett's isn't all bad.:)

Frolov is playing real well. LA has always put him in the game to go big and this year he is shooting on the net like he means business.
Zetterberg will get his game back and be one of the best second half players. I think Zetterberg will outproduce Frolov down the strech.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Last year around this time when both Frolov and Zetter were playing well I traded Frolov for Zetter straight up and it was one of my best moves hands down, as Frolov went on to do nothing, and Zetter accelerated throught to the second half of the year ended with his break out 86 points. Things are different now in this situation with Frolov's stock much higher than Zetts. Its hard to take Frolov with the "second half fizzler" label since it was only last season. But who knows, as a biased Zetter owner this year as well I have faith that in the long run he will outproduce Frolov. If Frolov tails off this year again then that's pretty Hank Blalock'esque, but for now I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he'll maybe drop to a slightly slower pace and produce a solid year.

Indeed its still close and Im sure it will continue to be untill the end of the season.
The comparison wasn't what I was trying to highlight in this bump. Dude wrote of Zetterberg. He makes a huge deal about not being interested in names... since when was Zetterberg just a name? He proceded to note that Berg is smut and currently injured and will never have a chance to match his production.
Zetterberg is a beast not only is he a natural goal scorer, he kills penalties, is an assistant captain (quite an accomplishment on that vetran squad) and is a playmaker.. it addition to the fantasy category value he provides. . Not some dime a dozen forward with a nice skill set ala Frolov.
