I had this thread going last season, kinda slacked on it after all sports except baseball ended... We'll bring it back starting today with the first full college football schedule... I'll keep this thread to only football, unless you want something else also... I have been hitting baseball nicely still... It's up to y'all. I will post my picks... If you have games of interest, I will also give you my thoughts on those. Just post them. Of course being that I have a whacky work schedule, if you want thoughts on some games, try to get them in before Saturday, otherwise kick off may come and go before I get to see the posts.
Of course, good luck to any and all who make picks and place action.
Only checked in two games for today, officially... May come back and throw one more in before I head out the door because I don't like playing an even number of games.
Each game played will be at one unit ($100), unless otherwise stated. I'll post the records as we go, just like last time!
Ohio State -19 over Northern Illinois
North Carolina -4 over Rutgers

Great to see this thread back. I already wondered what happened.
I'd like if you post more then football. Especially when hockey is back in October but also baseball etc.

Cool.... I'll start, well now... Aside from the two college football games I took today, I also took the Dodgers -1.5 (which is currently sitting at 6-0/LA!!!)
I'll post all picks taken then... My fault for not keeping up with it over the summer. Wasn't sure how many people were interested in just baseball plays...
Season Record: 1-1
NCAA Football: 1-1
NFL:
MLB:
NHL:
NBA:
NCAAB:
I have to say that I was shocked twice this NCAA season so far. The first pick of the season was Buffalo -6 over Temple the other night... I guess the new coach at Temple has something going. Temple didn't give up 36+ points like they are usually good for. That game ended as a push. Tonight, Rutgers on the road, not only covers but wins SU. WOW!!! The Ohio State game -19 was a gift. So, I say thank you. I'll update the board when the Dodgers/Rockies game goes final.

Sunday's plays of the day:
Louisville -22.5 over Kentucky - Louisville's offense hasn't fallen off of last year, while Kentucky's defense has. Kentucky also doesn't have the offense to keep up.
LA Dodgers -1.5 over Colorado. The Dodgers have been good to me.
Arizona (Webb) -.15 over Washington. Gotta go with the Webbster... AZ seems to have their game on when Webb is on the hill.
Season Record: 2-1
NCAA Football: 1-1
NFL:
MLB: 1-0
NHL:
NBA:
NCAAB
So three on tap... I may check in another game later, if I do I will post it.

Got f*cked with baseball yesterday, but Louisville the golden lock of the year hits nicely...
Not touching the Miami/Florida State game, unless one of y'all sees something ultra convincing for me to take action...
I am rolling with two baseball games though...
LA Dodgers -1.5 with Maddux on the mound
ChiCUBS -1.5 with Zambrano on the mound

I'm 2-0 so far this year King, and you should know that a nonbetting man picks a lot more winners than a betting man, and so as a revenge game in my eyes, I like the Canes tonight -3.5. The hook does scare me a little as this should be a close game, but I like the Canes at home.

What games did you take???
I am leaning Hurricanes only because they are at home, but it could end up a 3 point game either way...

I took GT and the points over ND and last night took TCU -7.5 over Baylor.
I feel ya about the 3 point game, that is why the hook scares me, but that is why I would take the Canes!! :D (Bookies want people to take the State and the hook!!)

One guy posted on a german football forum (Yes, there is one!) his picks for the College games this week. He's a College Football Freak (one of only a handfull that are spread all over the country ;) ) with pretty decent knowledge.
He plays a 6/8 system, so 6 of his 8 pick have to be true in order to win.
His picks are:
Pittsburgh U @ Cincinnati U (Spread) Pittsburgh U -8,5
Vanderbilt @ Alabama (Spread) Alabama -15,5
Ohio @ Northern Illinois (Spread) NO Illinois -14,5
Tulsa @ BYU (Spread) BYU -6,5
Tulane @ Houston U (Spread) Houston U -13,5
East Carolina @ UAB (Spread) UAB -6
Texas Tech @ UTEP (Spread) Texas Tech -7
Oregon @ Fresno State (Spread) Oregon -5
He says Pittsburgh, Oregon und BYU are no-brainers and Houston, NO Illinois und TexTech are close to be no-brainers. And he has a good feeling about UAB and Alabama.
What do you think? Does he have a good chance in getting 6 out of those 8 pick right?
Are there any 8 picks you would make that have a better chance?

well considering he picked 8 FAVORITES, I would say he wins no more than 4 of them!!

Had a busy day, so I didn't get to check in anything until now, in which I took the Rockies ML...
I am also looking at the Orioles/Angels game and the Rangers/A's game...
The Rangers game I am looking at Texas -1.5. But in Oakland?? Texas has Eaton on the hill vs. Oak's Saarloos.
The Angels game, I am being drawn to the Orioles ML at +170, but I am feeling the Angels -1.5 instead. I have done well with LAAAAAAA recently, but Lackey's lack of game over his last seven is a concern, especially vs. Benson who can make pitches.
Gotta check in those games by 10:00pm EST, so if anyone has input let me know... If I do anything, I'll post it.

I bolded out the picks that I like in this set... I wouldn't necessarily say I'd play them, because honestly I don't like a lot of these games. The dude that posted these picks should try to refrain from picking all favorites because that is bound for catastrophe.

Baseball rumped me again... That was my fault though... I only checked in Colorado's ML last night and wanted Texas and LAAAA also.
Today, I have one so far...
LADodgers -1.5 with D. Lowe on the hill vs. Milwaukee. I'm due for a Dodgers win.
Looking at Smoltz/Atlanta -1.5 also?? Thoughts on that? I have to bounce in 15 minutes, if I check it in...I'll post it.

Here are the matches I play tonight for the EURO 2008 - Qualifiers, Europe:
(HC 3:0) San Marino X Germany ---> Germany
We gonna win by atleast 4 goals in San Marino, anything else is not acceptable.
(HC 1:0) N. Ireland X Spain ---> Spain
And N. Ireland got crushed 0:3 @home vs. Iceland on Saturday while Spain defeated Liechtenstein 4:0. So Spain easily wins by at least 2.

Stupid Spain. How can you give up 2-1 lead in the second half to lose 2-3 against N. Ireland. - Note to myself: Never take Spain again!
At least we won 13-0 in San Marino and I got at least that right.

Well, the f*ck... Damn... I start this thread back up again, and baseball rams me in the shitter... I get a Dodgers win, but they don't cover... Maybe we should switch outta baseball and hit the NFL..........
MIAMI DOLPHINS +1.5 over Pittsburgh. I was looking at the Dolphins in the game +3.5 when Ben was still playing it. Personally, I think the Dolphins are gonna surprise a few people and win the mother SU. I'll take the point and a half in case we see a 21-20 game...

Nope... It was all real green... F*ck the Dolphins for their opening night let down. Bastards! I guess there was a reason everybody but two people that I know were on the Steelers. That's cool though, we have a long season ahead of us...
The last two days have been busy, haven't been able to check in.

There was no way Temple was coming close to Louisville. Just like Kentucky last week. I'll give my thoughts on Louisville next week, later in the week... The baseball games I won yesterday were Phillies -1.5 and Atlanta ML.
So now that we've gotten back on track, I have a few more that I just checked in.
Detroit Tigers ML over Minnsota with Noah Robertson on the hill.
LA Angels -1.5 over Toronto with Escobar on the hill vs. Chacin.
Arizona ML over St. Louis with Brandon Webb on the mound.
Colorado -1 over Colorado State.
Florida State -26.5 over Troy Ass State.
(TEASER) Houston down to -7 with the Utah State/Arkansas over to 40.5
Good luck everyone... I'll check back later tonight with the results.

Not a stellar night, last night.... BUT WE HAVE NFL WEEK ONE!
Going with four, home dogs... One big dollar game... And a baseball parlay...
We'll cover the baseball thing first to get it out of the way...
Cincy/Arroyo -1.5 over Pittsburgh coupled with Colorado at home ML...
NFL:
Detroit +6 at home over Seattle -- Watch out Seattle backers, that Madden Curse can hit as early as 1:10pm today.......
St. Louis +4 at home over Denver -- We have the exact opposite of the trap match-up... Denver is a much better home team than road team, although I don't discount them on the road either. I'll grab the points here...
Houston +6 at home over Philly -- I was calling Houston out when it was at +3.5, so I have to stick with it. Houston has potential to put points up. Remember back to the Texans home opener a few years back vs. Dallas. The world was against Houston. I took Houston then, they not only covered, but won SU.
Now we get to my favorite home dog of the day. NY GIANTS +3 over Indianapolis. Eli owns Peyton today...
BIG DOLLAR GAME...... If this game tanks, you may not see me in a while... ahahhaa.... $1000..... My game of the week..... ARIZONA -9 over San Francisco... FU SF, AZ is where it is at!
Got a total of two grand riding on the NFL today.... Could be a quick season if all fails.....
I'll update last night's and today's action when I get home tonight!!!
GOOD LUCK!

King, so when you hoppin' a plane to SF and going to kick the 49er's coach's ass for going for a FG with 32 seconds left in the game when down by 10 to rape you in the ass without the consideration for a reacharound, being that the spread was 9? I guess we're not going to be seeing much of you around from now on, huh? :D

Seems like SEA will have too many threats with Hasselback and his completion percentage and hopefully a bounce back game from Alexander.

Good call on taking Denver. I really didn't think they'd do it in New England. However, Tom Brady has no receivers. His top three receivers are 3 TEs. That's insane.
Tonight's game... Dude, I want to be all over Atlanta, I just can't do it though... Not tonight... This is a huge, huge game for New Orleans. First game back in the city since the tragedy. No away team wants to win the first game back. Just like after 9/11. Nobody wanted to go to the Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Rangers, Isles, Knicks and win that first game. I am gonna watch the line to see how it moves. The city is so hyped right now. I'll post my take later this afternoon.

Coincidentally that timing of Fly's post and the BLOCKED PUNT for a TD are pretty close in time......
Dude, I had the Saints at +5... I was all over that... If you look at history, HOME DOGS on MNF usually win SU, let alone cover... Sorry if you took the Falcons, even though it was tough rooting against them for me... But hey, gotta go where the money is... ;)

The Broncos aren't making the Super Bowl either. They are not as good as most people think. Cutler will be the starter soon than later, and Plummer is lucky as hell he had a good game vs. NE or we would be seeing Cutler and Leinart starting this week. C'mon TEN, just start V.Young now!!!! :D

I'll post if I take anything tonight...The train carrying the Nats got derailed. Anyway, I took them on the RL. Up 2-1 in the 2nd and just beating up on Ortiz right now.
Edit: that was quite a misleading first inning.

Fly do you know what sarcasm is.... Dummy!
Plummer will remain in unless he completely falls apart. Although, I would love to see Cutler. Cutler, remember is the QB that I think is the best of the draft. Better than Leinart and Young. Warner is gonna start, but Atlanta might finish him as the starter! God, Tenny please put Young in!!! COLLINS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First..
Lousiville -25 over Cincinnati.. Cincinnati is butthole. Louisville will win this one by 30+.
Then..
Louisiana Tech -3 over Idaho. Not huge on LaTECH but not huge on Idaho. I'll take Tech at home giving 3.
Finally..
Michigan -5.5 over Penn State. Penn State isn't that good this year. Michigan is pretty damn good this year. This is a huge game for the Wolverines. Lines at 7-9, Michigan can usually cover. It's when they are double digits that they have issues covering. I'll take Big Blue -5.5 here.

Why is PHI only favoured by -3 in NO tomorrow?
1. They are playing in New Orleans.
2. New Orleans has a pretty good offense.
3. New Orleans has a pretty OK defense.
4. Philly is not the dominant team in the game.
5. Offense favors Philly, slightly.
6. Defense is a wash.
7. Special teams (returns) favors New Orleans.
8. Kicking/Punting goes to New Orleans.

Scary thing here is that I like all 6. The only one that I would be concerned with is the Dallas/Houston over. Not sure if Houston can score that much to contribute to the total. Don't see Dallas blowing up Houston that bad. 27-10 final, something close to that.

Does anybody know why there wasn't a 10 second runoff after the Illegal Formation penalty with :04 left to play?
Especially when you look at the rules: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football_rules
Illegal procedure (5 yards) - they commit any of a number of infractions in failing to adhere to the rules that govern action before the snap. Referee signal: two arms in front of chest with closed fists "rolling" around each other (same signal that basketball referees use to signal traveling). In the NFL, if the following penalties occur with less than a minute remaining in the half and the clock running, then a ten-second penalty is also assessed. The half automatically ends if the penalty occurs with 10 seconds or less remaining to be played with the clock running. The 10-second penalty does not apply if the clock is stopped when the ball is set for play and will not start until the ball is snapped, or if a team elects to use one of their time outs in lieu of the 10-second runoff. A team wanting to run the clock out in a close game can in fact intentionally false start and use the 10-second rule to their advantage, since the false start penalty cannot be declined by the defense.
Illegal procedure includes, but is not limited to:
Illegal formation - has fewer than 7 players on the line of scrimmage (or more than 7 in NFL), fails to have an eligible receiver as the leftmost and rightmost players on the line in the NFL, or fails to have five properly numbered ineligible players on the line.

There can't be a tie after SO.Pretty sure they mean at the beginning of a shutout, so a tie after 65 minutes. Maybe they just have it worded awkwardly... that would be a pretty good scam if they meant it that way though. I'll pay anyone here 2000:1 on a tie after a shutout.
I like calling the tie between skaters, it's usually like a 4:1 payout, and it doesn't seem that unlikely to me anyway (I've never gotten the tie when I called it on skaters, 1/1 when calling on games though).

Kam -- well, thanks for reviving this thread... I was going to get to it with yesterday's picks (Pens/Blues ML parlay and Duke +2 -- both winners I might add) but forgot to.
SIA only lets you max at $200 on a parlay. What kind of parlay were you looking at? I have done a couple of $500 parlays with them, but if the payout is exuberant, then I can understand the limit. Example if you are trying a 6-teamer on college hoops and take the 6 biggest underdogs, then sure... I see their point. If that hits, that could close SIA's doors.
Anyway, I use SportsInteraction almost everyday. I also use BoDog on occasion.

Cavs +2 @ -105
Over/Under is 179.
I am on three baseball games tonight. Taking 2 dogs and 12 favorite.
I have Cole Hamels and the Phillies ML @ -155 over ChiSOX. Hamels on the mound is the only reason I am taking this game.
Brandon Webb and Arizona @ +160 over the Yankees is too good of a price to pass up.
Micah Bowie and Washington @ +155 over Baltimore is solid. Baltimore's bats are virtually invisible right now.

Today's action...
I go the opposite. Baltimore doesn't get swept at home by the Nats. Guthrie pulls it together over Simontacchi. Orioles ML.
Florida/Willis & Pittsburgh/Gorzleanny ML parlay. Pays almost 2.75/1. Gorz has been hot, and although Willis has an ERA of 4.50+ the Fish seem to win when he is on the mound.

Well the debacle on the books today was paid for by the Spurs sweep. Going into that series, I took the Spurs to win the series outright. Was teetering on taking game one Spurs -7.5 action but faded it then came back to it game two at Spurs -7. Left games three and four alone. Series clincher tonight pays for the MLB butchering. Gorzelanny and the Pitts got shut out. The Fish made it semi-interesting in the 9th, but that didn't matter since Pittsburgh lost. Baltimore goes and gets swept at home. Three games I wanted to play, but was afraid to touch... Atlanta +1.5 over Minnesota. I saw a lot of action leaning Minny's way, so I wanted to play Devil's Advocate and go the opposite. But just didn't feel it. Atlanta isn't looking to hot right now. I was looking at KC as home dogs. No way did I think they would have blown St. Louis up like that. Oakland ML at Houston was the one I had lined up and wanted to pull the trigger on first, but faded. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls. If there is one thing to learn about betting sports, is go with your first call. Would have been 3-0, faded my original plays went with others and ended up 0-3 (0-2 since the one was a parlay).

ML = Money Line - the winner of the match at the end of the game (no matter if the game ends after 9 innings or 13 innings or in hockey regulation/overtime/penalty shootout)
RL = Run Line - the favorite has to overcome a 1.5 run (goal) deficitit -> the favorite has to win by at least 2 runs (or goals in hockey)
The underdog gets additional 1.5 runs and in order to win the bet the dog can weither win or lose by max. 1 run (goal)
In hockey the RL for the underdog is won once the game ends in a tie after regulation since in OT and PS the favorite will only 1 goal max.
The A's -1.5 is a RL game. The odds are better and you can make more cash than with a ML but the A's have to win by at least 2 runs.

I took one play, two-team parlay....
LAAAAAAAA/Ervin Santana ML over Houston along with San Diego/Germano over Baltimore @ +168. Ervin is butt on the road, but stellar at home, while Houston is really just shitty all around. No way they win two AT the Angels. Baltimore is just God awful. Guthrie on the mound for the O's kinda concerns me a bit, but hey...
Wanted the Cleveland Indians tonight, but didn't get home in time to check it in. Like Sabathia on the mound against Lieber and Philly. Currently up 10-4 there, oh well... Missed out on that piece.

Back in action tonight. Sorry fellas for missing out on the last couple of days. I have been nuts busy. I got three plays going tonight.
Atlanta/Hudson ML over Washington. The Braves haven't been that good lately, dropping all the way to .500. I see them rebounding tonight at home vs. the Nats after being pounded by the Tigers the last three days.
Two-team parlay. I have this one seeing Brad Penny/Dodger ML over Arizona along with Sheets/Milwaukee -1.5 over Houston. Houston hasn't been that good really. I like Sheets. Penny has been solid this season.
Three-team parlay. All MLs. Detroit/Bonderman over Texas, Lackey/LAAAA over KC, and Sabathia/Cleveland over Oakland. Detroit should roll nicely after demolishing the Braves. The no time off between traveling doesn't bother me here. LAAAAA are good. Concerned over Cleveland. Oakland has burned me a few times.

Got home late, only able to check in one game tonight.
I am taking Erv Santana/LAAAA -1.5 @ +100 over KC. I was tempted to take Meche/KC ML @ +175.

But I'll post my picks for tonight anyway.
Habs ML - Habs should rebound after they lost their home operer to the Canes.
Av's o5.5 - 7 of the last 8 games between the 2 teams were over. This should continue tonight.
Flyers RL - Atlanta has been very disappoining so far and I'm confident that the Flyers will win it by at least 2 goals.
Wild RL - The Kings are a mess right now and lost the last 4 games by at least 2 goals. On the other hand the Wild are still undefeated and just blanked the Ducks.

Sucker... I was actually just thinking of this thread the other day and started to compile my season stats to post here. (from the start of the NCAAF season) I have been taking action all along. Very rarely a day off...
Give me a day or two to try to get the stats for y'all and then I will start posting picks regularly. Most football weekends I have been playing 7 games each, NCAAF and NFL.

I was going to dive in and give you all the stats of the year (the year starts with football) but there are so many, it would have take 3 posts to do so... So f*ck it... We'll just start with this weekend. I have been diligent in staying with an equal base on all games played in any given single day, i.e. if I start out throwing a dollar on one game, I'll play a dollar ($100) on each game I take for the day. If I throw a deuce ($200) it will be a deuce on each game throughout the day. This makes +'s and -'s easy. Tools like Brandon Lang like to give you his XXXX-Dime play. He is a jack ass. It loses like three times in a row. On the fourth time (after doubling each time) it finally hits. What he makes it look like is he hits the big game, but the reality is he actually just brings himself back to even. He's a douche. I wouldn't follow him much if any of you do.
Anyway... Saturday's plays went 4-1.
Buffalo pick 'em over Akron
Oregon -3 over USC
Ohio State -3.5 over Penn State
UTEP +6 over Houston
Rutgers +6 over West Virginia
Sunday's action went 4-4
Pittsburgh/Cincinnati UNDER 48
New England -16 over Washington
Cleveland -3 over St. Louis
San Diego -9 over Houston
Jets/Bills OVER 38
Tampa Bay -3.5 over Jacksonville
Minnesota +1 over Philly
Rockies ML over Red Sox
So we will start with this weekend's stats...and I will give you a rolling total as we go along. I will post picks. Any/everyone else please feel free to post picks as well. If I could just ask one favor, if you are posting a pick please support it with a reason instead of just saying I pick XX +3 over YY.
A few things to note. Not sure which site anyone uses, I primarily use Sports Interaction. I occassionally dabble on BoDog. Once in a blue moon I'll go elsewhere. On SIA, there is auto-juice. Basically on most bets I'll win $91 on a $100 play. When you line the play up it looks like (example)
Memphis -4 -110
Toledo +4 -110
The MLs on the dogs are obviously better pay outs than MLs on favorites.
If I remember, I'll post the price with the play if it is different than the normal -110.
I'll post picks as early as I can in the day. This way it'll give any takers a chance to get in on action.
Of course nothing is a guarantee, that's why they play the games. But placing action makes the games more interesting.
Any questions, comments please ask.

Green Bay ML @ +135 ($100 play wins $135)
Green Bay/Denver UNDER 44.5 @ -110 ($100 play wins $91)
Laid off NHL... Only three games. SIA has a Grand Salami bet which is an over/under total goals from all games set at 17. They usually have it set at 5.5 goals per game, which puts this number a little high, so I faded it.
Good luck.

Great to see you're finally back.
NFL this weekend was really good this weekend especially when I consider I didn't want to play first and the fact I didn't use that charity offer (all the big ones covered their spread).
And I found someone who is really good with South American soccer.
His analysis are in German but his results speak for theselves. I play his picks regulary.
If you want to take a look at his stats: http://ledi.blogabet.com/
For tonight I like the Pack tonight too.
And I get slightly better lines here (Spread is 100 wins 100, ML is 100 wins 145).
That just brings me to my first question. Why does everybody use that -125 etc. Almost like the Brits with their fractional 4/5 stuff.
The rest of us lazy Euros uses the simple and easy understandable decimal system. Which just mean the line is the factor for the amount you wage. That's especially a big plus once you do a parlay.
The reason I write this is because if I write a pick I don't know what the line in your style is (I could probably try to convert it but i'm lazy ;)) and I don't know what the line at certain American bookie is (though I could tell you the lines for about 20 Euro bookies :D).

So far just going with one play.
Dallas Stars ML @ -180 over Chicago.
I don't think it'll be a blow out so I don't want to fuss with the GL (goal line) in this case. The -180 converts to $100 wins $55.

When you log into SIA or BoDog you have the choice to have it presented in either -110 or 2/1 type. The -110 (or whatever number it is) is the dollar amount you have to lay to win $100. So in my case above, taking Dallas... If I want to won $100 I need to lay $180. Why it just isn't presented in basic decimal format, who knows? Hahaha... I will try to remember to convert it for you when I post picks.
I am looking at Florida at home @ +100 (which is even $100 wins $100) over Carolina. Also looking at New Jersey at home @ -115 over Tampa. Thoughts??

You don't have to convert it for me. The lines are pretty much the same around the world since the bookies adjust them instantly.
I can see why you want to take the Devils. TB has lost all their road games so far and after a seemingly endless road trip for the Devils they now play only the second home game of the year. They need to start winning right now.
I'll take the Devils.
But why the Panthers? The Canes have won the last 7 games against the Panthers in a row and are 8-2 in their last 10 against them. It looks like they have their number.
But the last 3 games in Florida were decided in OT.
Maybe it's worth to pick the X after regulation if one of your bookies offer this. But only small.
The lines here are something like 100 wins 330.
And I think the Kings will win against Columbus in regulation. Both time are on a hot streak right now and both teams got the majority of wins @home this season. 9 of the last 10 games between those 2 were won by the home team and only 2 games were decided in OT and both were in Columbus.
That's why I think the home ice advantage will be the deciding factor.
Devils ML 100 wins 91
Panthers X (regulation) 100 wins 330
Kings win (regulation) 100 wins 115

I was looking at Florida because that line went from +125 down to +100. At even money it is still worth it. There has to be something for the books to swing it down so much. Someone is out for the Canes or just heavy action on the Panthers that they want to force action back the other way. I don't know. I haven't locked it in yet. I'll back your Devils and Kings though.
***I just went back onto SIA and Florida is back up to +115. So I will nix that game altogether.

I would say 90% of what I do is through SIA (Sports Interaction). I dabble with BoDog here and there. On a rare occassion if I am trying to hit a middle (example: one site has say New England at -5 but another has the lined bumped up to Indy +7 - that sort of thing. Best to utilize this method for college games and if you take one team early in the week. College spreads shoot around moreso than NFL spreads).

Any looks for tonight?? I feel like this Pittsburgh game could fall into a trap type game. The concensus pick is overwhelmingly on Pittsburgh which usually is a bad sign. People thinking the next to no offense in Baltimore won't keep them in the game. 9 is a lot of wood to lay in a Monday Night game. 36 is the total. Actually looking at the Nets -4 also, but didn't hit it yet.
Sucker...do you have a winner in the NYR/NYI game?? Or just under the total? I have it basically set as a pick 'em. Both MLs are -110. The Isles -1.5 is at +225 while the Rangers +1.5 is -275. Any thoughts in the Ottawa game also??

If Lundy sits I'd tend towards the Isles. But if Lundy starts I wouldn't pick a winner.
But since the last 5 games between those 2 have been 1 goal games maybe Rangers +1.5 if you want to pick anything here.
And the Sens should win tonight. They've won 7 in a row and I don't think that the Leafs will beat them in Ottawa. The first 2 games between those 2 this year were also won by the Sens.
But Ottawa has won all their games against fellow Canadien teams by exactly 1 goal so they may not cover the PL.
Unfortunately the lines are pretty low for the ML.
So maybe combine Sens ML and Rangers +1.5 in a parlay (if Lundy starts).

he opted to steer clear all together! and I must admit - one of the greatest lessons our parents taught us (by example) - it's never safe to bet on the Stillers b/c they'll pretty much always screw ya

Strike. Another 1 goal game between the two NY teams and Ottawa crushed the Leafs. Even the PL would have been a hit but whatever.
Unfortunately the total of the NYI/NYR game was a push.
But nothing lost. ;)
Soccer was 2-2 yesterday. Liverpool covered the -1 easily with that 8-0 win and Porto won 2-1.
Valencia just plain sucks. Rosenborg isn't even competive compared to most of thew other teams in the CL.
And Chelsea was pretty early satisfied with the 1 point and the draw.
For Champions League tonight I have:
ManU -2
Fenerbahce
And a 3 team parlay: Lyon + Arsenal + Manu -1

But I feel the opposite Dallas -2, Detroit ML and the Colts -3.5.
I made a 3/5 parlay:
Redskins -3
Colts -3.5
Detroit ML
Dallas -2
Bears -3
I also like the overs at
Cardinals/Lions over 44.5
Giants/Cowboys over 49
Saints/Rams over 46.5
And an underdog parlay:
Jaguars +5
Denver +3
Dolphins +3
I feel that the Dolphins might actually win today. If they can't win at home against the unconsistent Bills they are heading straight for 0-16 and after their Bye it's now or never for them.

NBA: 0-3 / 300

Sixers got whomped. Wolverines covered the 13.5. NFL went off... The over/under on vodka/cranberry drinks for me to consume next Sunday is going to be set at 22. Damn... What a day. F*ck the Colts. Glad they lost. Jerks. Damn Redskins. Could have made that par nice. On SIA, if you have more than a 2-team par... if one pushes the par is still alive. The 6-teamer would have dropped to a 5-teamer with the Buffalo push if Washington could have won and covered. Bastards.
Monday night game?? Anyone?? I would have to think that a subpar Seattle team can beat up a practically non-existent San Francisco team. Right?? The line was 10 at last look. Should Seattle be giving 10 to anyone really? Anyone got the nuggets to take SF though? I don't know. I am looking at the UNDER right now. 36 is the total. One thing that stands in SF's favor. I believe they are going to show up and want to win for Coach Nolan whose pop passed away a few days ago. Coach Nolan is not with the team at the moment. Thoughts on this?? Also looking at the Flyers over the Islanders as one of my pucks plays.

SJ has won 5 straight games (all since the begin of this calendar year) against the Coyotes by at least 2 goals. This is likely to coninue tonight.
And since I leave my hands from hockey for some time you can take it.
As for the MNG.
Seahawks screwed me last week.
And this is one of these NFC West matchup were anything can happen. Seahawks are declining fast and are without SA tonight (maybe not much of a minus anyway) and the 49ers have no real offense at all.
I'm taking the under and leave the spread alone.
Btw. Am I the only one who wouldn't be surprised if the winner of the NFC West has a losing record?

0-4-1 for the day.............. Yikes!
Here are my picks for the NFL Sunday (1:00's / 4:00's):
Buffalo +9.5 over Jacksonville
Cleveland -3.5 over Houston
Cleveland/Houston OVER 52
San Diego -9 over Baltimore
Three Team Tease:
Arizona down to -3.5 over San Francisco
Arizona/San Francisco OVER down to 30.5
San Diego down to -2 over BaltimoreJacksonville doesn't really blow anyone out. I'll take the 9.5. Cleveland will out gunsling Houston. That hook could be critical though. San Diego will bounce back against an offense-less team. The tease. Arizona will beat San Fran, but for as shitty as San Fran is, Arizona has no business laying 10+. That over is a little light, banking on the shittiness of San Fran. And well, to bring the tease to a +120 I needed a 3rd. Thinking SD can cover the 9, taking SD to 2 only makes sense.
---- Doc, I like the Giants at home. What are you getting the line at? I am seeing 7.5. I am not a fan of the hook here, especially if Peterson plays. Last look I saw he was still gametime, but I don't think he will play.
---- Fly, that Pats line is up to -24.5. That is f*ckin' unreal! I will take the Patriots tonight laying college ball lumber on that shit. Could it be one of those McNabb goes down and the back-up sparks new life in the Birds thing though, a la Feeley of a few years back and Garcia last year??????
Good luck.

Wow...missed some updating, but here we go:
Updated as of 1:10am, November 27th.
NCAA(F): 15-22-1 / 805
NFL: 28-12-1 / 1867
World Series: 0-1 / 100
NBA: 3-6 / 331
NCAA(B): 4-1 / 438
NHL: 1-15 / 760
TOTAL: 51-57-2 / 309
Laid off the MNF game tonight.
Need some help in pucks. Not worried about the NBA. I think we can get that back to the positive shortly. The NHL though. Damn. I am getting f*cked. Sucker, Kam, Doc...anybody. I will take one good play. Whether it is a side or a total. I may go back to the plays I did when I had the huge run. Take one or two games. Moneyline only. Yeah, usually pays small but wins add up. WTF?

put all your money on the Pats, Doc!! :D
Guess not, huh??
I was at Dadz with Mosca and the Denatos. I was saying to Mosca that I wouldn't be surprised if we see Philly come out firing like every other time McNabb gets hurt, i.e. Garcia last year, Feeley before that... McNabb sucks and can't get shit done. Feeley isn't bad. I told Mosca go with the over cause that super huge number was ridiculous. Now we see 20 again given to Baltimore. Baltimore though... They need every point given to them. They have no shot. No offense to keep up. Boller? McNair? Yeah right.

Okay KK. You asked for it.
Anaheim ML - Ducks have won the last 8 games in Vancouver. I know they haven't played great this year away from home with a 3-6-1 record but Vancouver is also only 5-6-1 @home.
Leafs/Habs over 6 - The games between those two teams are almost always high scoring ones.
Wings -1.5 - Wings have won their last 5 home games against the Flames by at least 2 goals and after losing their last 2 games in CLB and in NAS they won't lose 3 in a row and will try dominate right from the start.

KK, if you want someone elses perspective on the NBA you may want to keep an eye on this guy here: http://sholts.blogabet.com/
Not saying you should just blindly play everthing he plays but if you need some inspiration/confirmation it's worth a look.
He gives explanations for his picks in English so you can (dis-)agree with his arguments.

NHL - Anaheim ML @ +110 over Vancouver
NBA - Denver -7.5 over Indiana
NCAA(B) - Santa Barbara -4.5 over UNLV
Good luck.

Might be a good idea. ;)
But I still think that the Ducks were a good call and I'd probably take them again under the same circumstances..
And poor KK picked the one NHL pick that was a bust.

Strange. My bookie now suddendly counts ML games only including the OT.
If a game is decided in the SO it's a push. :freak:
That means:
Panthers and Sens are pushs
Blackhawks is won :D
3-team parlay is also won :D (since the Sharks game is ruled a push )

Sens -1.5
Thrasher in regulation (take ML if not offered)
Rangers/Isles under 5.5

Ughhhh................ After all this nonsense, since posting plays and picks I am up a whopping nine bucks! Well, the good thing is the one area that I have been hitting is NFL and we have some NFL action tonight. Problem. Not really sure which way I am leaning right now. All week long, up until about 27 minutes ago I was liking Green Bay +7. I was liking GB enough to bang the moneyline @ +225. Not feeling the total either way @ 52. Then we have NCAA(F). Louisville -2.5 vs. Rutgers. This time its in Louisville. I went to the Louisville/Rutgers game last year at Rutgers and probably was the only one who wanted Louisville to win and the only one who took Louisville to win. Louisville has a point to prove. The total here is 60. Not so sure about that one either.
If I were to lock plays in now, I'd take Green Bay +7 and Louisville -2.5. While still looking at NHL and hoops plays. Sucker, I am looking at the Ottawa -1.5 and Atlanta ML. My book has Rangers/Isles total at 5.
Kam...I saw your pick the other day with Vanny over Anaheim. I got enticed by the good value of the Ducks ML. Dammit.
NBA: is there anyway the Knicks beat Boston? Knicks ML is +800, Celtics ML is -1200. Is it worth the risk to take Boston ML for a dollar just to win eight bucks?? Ask Fly, I have always been a fan of "free" money but I will be pissed if the Knicks win. Should I attach the Celtics ML as the back end of a parlay??
I'll post the plays when I lock them in. Any thoughts in the meantime would be awesome.

I know some other guys who do the NHL and pretty much all of them are in the reds this season. This year it's very unpredictable.
Maybe a sign that the SalCap works and that the teams are closer together in terms of skill level but surely bad for everyone who bets on NHL games right now.
As for the total in the Rangers/Isles. If there are 6 goals were both f*cked. If there a 5 goals I win and you get at least your money back. The last 7 games have been under 5.5 between those 2 so it's worth a try.
I like the Thrashers also because of the Leafs situation. The more the Leafs lose the sooner someone's gone.
I feel like the GB/DAL spread is a trap. I won't touch the spread.
But I like the over. This should be a shootout. Both QB want to prove something tonight. It's Favre vs. "young" Favre. Both teams can match whatever the other team scores.
This might come down to the last possesion and there should be a lot of points on the scoreboard after all is set and done.
DAL/GB over 51.5 for me tonight.

I'll update the numbers in a little bit, but here are some NCAA(F) picks for today:
Missouri +3 over Oklahoma -- Missou a much better team now then when Oklahoma faced them earlier in the season. Not so sure than Oklahoma can stay with them and match points. Missouri hasn't scored less than 31 all season long, which happened to be against Oklahoma. Not that Oklahoma can't score, I just don't think it will be decided by more than a FG either way.
Arizona +7 over Arizona State -- Key factor in this game is that AZ States hopes for the PAC-10 title could be squashed earlier this afternoon when USC beats UCLA (not so sure USC will cover the number, but I think a win is in the horizon there for sure). Arizona's offense and offensive line has improved over the last month or so. I don't think its a cake walk for the Sun Devils.
Virginia Tech -5 over Boston College -- About 6 weeks ago, I thought that BC could roll through their schedule and possibly go unbeaten (the week BC was -3 vs. VaTECH and covered 14-10). Then they faced Florida State and Maryland and the results of those two games shit the bed for BC and put a new perspective on what that team really is. It isn't bad, but it isn't great. It got caught up in the New England hype with the Red Sox and the Patriots and the new look Celtics. Clearly this team is not at the same level as those teams, but not too far off. They rebounded and came back as 9-point dogs in Clemson and pushed against Miami. The key to this game is going to be homefield. VaTECH has one of the better homefield advantages as far as their crowd goes. I think it will be loud. I think BC will be disrupted. VT wins by 10.
For shits and giggles, I packed up a three-team ML parlay on "should be gimmes" even though there really isn't such thing as a gimme, right?
California over Stanford
Hawaii over Washington
Troy State over Florida Atlantic
That came at the price of -174.
The cheapest price in that parlay if playing alone was Hawaii's -550 over Washington. Again, on paper looks good. But that's why they play the games, right?
For my NHL debacle...I have:
NY Rangers ML @ +140 over Ottawa
Philadelphia ML @ -145 over Dallas
Columbus +1.5 over Calgary/St. Louis ML over Chicago @ +159
NCAA(B):
Louisville -12 over Miami (OH)
Good luck...............

I'll try some NHL action tonight:
Red Wings -1.5 - Phoenix got derailed by the Blackhawks last night and the same will very likely happen again tonight against a rested Wings squad.
Sabres/Canes over 6 - Sabres are back scoring goals almost like last year. And the Canes are always an offensive team.
Leafs/Pens over 6.5 - Another matchup were both teams are able to score and some weaker goaltending on both sides will help too as will the injuries to Gonchar and Kubina.

Thanks to the two-teamer in NHL and the underdog Rangers winning SU, we get back to the green going into Sunday.
Sucker, I like your picks but I am going against one. ...and its the one game that could easily end in your favor.
1:00:
Jacksonville +7 over Indy. I think there are too many injuries on the offensive side of the ball for Indianapolis. Harrison is still out. Jacksonville wants this game. They have been playing extremely well on both sides of the ball. ...and Garrard doesn't have to worry about Freeney. I think Jax keeps it close. Wasn't convinced enough of a SU win to take the ML.
Miami -2 over NY Jets. This is it. Miami's 1st win of the season comes today. The Jets are just awful. The Phins, although on the losing side of the coin, have played well, especially intheir last two games (Philly and the slop blow in Pittsburgh). I gotta think they take this one.
Seattle +3 over Philadelphia. The weather here is pretty shitty right now. Snow on the ground. Although not really enough (at this point) to cause a factor, but the weather is supposed to be cold with snow/sleet/rain all day, so that is why I stayed away from the total. Plus right off of 95, there is a ridiculous added chill and wind. This could be a sloppy game.
4:00:
Chicago ML over NY Giants. The spread was only 1.5, so I figured to take the better value at even money then give up the auto-juice. I hate Rex Grossman, but the Giants are back to that bad state that they were in at the beginning of the season.
Tampa Bay/New Orleans OVER 41.5. This one I was going to take the Saints. Garcia though is still questionable and as of the last thing I heard Gruden wasn't making a decision until right around gametime. I think New Orleans could re-establish their offense here, but not so sure their defense can contain the Buccs whoever throws the ball. Looking at a 28-24 type of game.
Good luck......................

I'll get the updated stats in shortly... Was looking around at different lines and games and came across this. Thoughts?!?!
Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens (http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/nhl/matchups/g2_summary_1.html) (+120, 5 ½)
Backup goalies with polar-opposite career credentials will likely decide this matchup.
Starting Montreal goaltender Cristobal Huet is out with an injured groin, leaving rookie Carey Price (http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/nhl/players/player1799.html) to start tonight. Price has compiled a respectable 6-3-1 record this season, but has never faced the Red Wings.
Dominik Hasek will suit up for the Wings after a prolonged absence. He lost his last three starts but has a career 23-10-1 record against Montreal. Detroit is 8-3 in the last 11 versus the Canadiens.
Pick: Red Wings -140
Ottawa Senators at Tampa Bay Lightning (http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/nhl/matchups/g2_summary_5.html) (+115, 6)
The Lightning lead the league with a 16-9 over/under record and have been padding their high totals recently with seven overs in 10 games (http://www.covers.com/articles/articles.aspx?theArt=156475&t=0#). They are 12-3-1 in games with a total of 6 this season.
The Senators have been scoring well, even though their goals haven't put numbers in the win column. They've lost six straight by surrendering 28 goals, but have racked up 19 scores of their own in that span. The Senators rank eighth in the NHL with 80 goals to their credit on the season.
Pick: over 6
t. Louis Blues at Calgary Flames (-120, 5)
Flames coach Mike Keenan is getting on the case of goalie Miikka Kiprusoff after Calgary stretched its losing streak to four games with an overtime loss to Columbus.
It remains to be seen how Kiprusoff, who only has one win in five starts, will respond. But he does have a 2.27 career goals-against average and 7-2-1 record against the Blues.
Even if the Flames can silence the St. Louis offense, they may find scoring tough. The Blues are best in the league in goals against (http://www.covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/nhl/standings/2007-2008/sortable/standings_ga.html), allowing only 53 all season compared to Calgary's 84 goals allowed.
Pick: Blues +100
I think I like the Blues pick, but with the way I have been rolling in NHL plays... I don't know.

Scary thing is I like all 3.
The Habs just blew the game against the Preds and the Wings play at a different level than the Preds even with Hasek between the pipes.
TB scores and the Sens score but the Sens also surrended a bunch of goals lately. Everything indicates an over 6 here.
And the Blues just played better hockey this year. And the Flames have their share of injuries.
And I also like the over 5.5 in the Leafs/Preds game. Both teams can score and they will score tonight again.
